GPE #3 : Top-Dressing with Hound

H O U N D

at the

 Gymkhana of Gardening

Hound is not a gardener - he lives in Birmingham, for Christsakes! - but has seen fit to take part in this "gymkhana of gardening" (his own words) in his own inimitable way.  Let's see what he has to show us:

"Against my better judgement, a picture of me gardening"

Now, Hound only sent me two images displaying his gardening 'skills' - the one above, and another that beggars description, quite frankly.  But, before we get to that one, I scoured his 2021 blog posts in an effort to find some greenery to pad this out a bit.  The results were... lacking, let's just say.  I found two pictures only very tangentially related to gardening - both from April:

I was really reaching with this Gordon Ramsay meme (found here)...

... but at least this one - taken by Hound's own fair hand/paw (I assume) - contains actual plantlife, albeit in fabric form.  (What is that - a tablecloth?)

☙❧

So, on to the moment you have all been waiting for.

You might want to finish whatever it is you might be eating before scrolling down any further.

You have been warned...

"This picture of me manuring the garden will knock em off their feet!"

So there you have it.  Thank you Hound for sharing your gardening efforts (despite not actually showing any greenery - a Garden Photos Event first!).  I'm sure you've given a lot of people food for thought* as to their own methods of garden fertilisation.

We'll be back in two or three days with actual flowers & foliage from Dinahmow's garden.  Stay tuned!

* A poor choice of words, perhaps...

  1. You ain't nothin' but a Hound Dog!

What? Not even a patch of piss-stained dandelions?! Birmingham has loads of those. Jx

    1. Is it eating or just touching dandelions that causes one to wet themselves/the bed?

  2. Honestly Hound? You couldn't find a defiant weed growing in a pothole somewhere? Their tenacity for life is to be admired. Well, there's always next year, right?

    1. I have a sneaky suspicion that Birmingham hosts a wealth of secret gardens and Hound's keeping them all to himself!

  3. I think Hound's gardening efforts are "divine."

  4. How much is that doggie in the window? I love that scene.

Birmingham you say? And not one floral roadside shrine in sight or even a rogue buddleia growing out of a crack in a wall of a council house.

    1. This reminds me of an old warehouse/covered car park I walk past on my way to work - the roof is covered in ivy, moss, buddleias, and other smaller plants. I'll try and get a photo before it collapses under the weight!

  5. Nothing like re-cycling shit. Not even a weed to be found?

    1. The weeds don't stand a chance because all the fertiliser keeps getting eaten!

  9. Ok I'm going to have to come clean that there is actually greenery in this venerable and ancient city. I just have to keep up the pretence that there isn't because Inexplicable has the idea that it's endless concrete jungle!
If anyone would particularly like me to 'garden' for them, I'm available!

    1. Is there moss? I like moss.

Actually, I have just googled (well, 'bing'ed) "garden birmingham uk" and up popped Birmingham Botanical Gardens! Despite being in Birmingham (well, Edgbaston) I want to go!

P.S. One of their plants of the month is Disocorea bulbifera, the Air Potato, which looks like it would make foor a Terrifying Triffid!

    2. You put that picture up on purpose to give me a strong urge to make another remark about testicles didn't you?
You would love the botanical gardens actually.

    3. Well, not testicles specifically, but I thought it would provoke a reaction/comment of sorts ;)

  10. I say no gardening album is complete without a picture of Divine eating dog crap. You garden your way, The Hound of Hecate will garden Hound-style. So there.

    1. At least Hound's is organic.

Well, depending on what he's eaten, of course...
