Vos Grace*

 It's been a lovely sunny - if a bit cold - day here, so this morning I took Bitey down to the beach for a walk.  We came down the cliff just before the east slope and slipway and made our way west. 

 (That's Trimingham sticking out into the sea on the horizon in the photo above; and the view north-northwest from halfway down the cliff, below.)

 

First Photos of the Year

 I feel like I'm at a loose end, despite having various things to do.  Probably because I have various things to do, actually - I can't muster up the enthusiasm to do any of them.  And I've felt this way since before hearing the sad news that we've lost LẌ (which has only made me feel more "meh").
 So, forgetting everything else and going against my not-really-a-New-Year's-resolution to NOT clutter up the blog with meaningless photo-posts when I've got shit-all else to post about, I've flicked through the few photos I've taken so far this year, and plopped the "best" ones up here.  They're of the same old subject matter that I've subjected you to a thousand times before, so don't expect anything to write home about.

1st January: The first day of 2020 finds the cliff sacrificing itself to replenish the beach again just past the End-of-the-Line (and Camera reminding me to clean its lens...).

3rd January: A cleaned Camera lens later allows for a clear sunset and moon shot.

End-of-the-Line Updates #2.5, #3 & #4 (with a touch of Glamour)

 I thought it was about time we had another End-of-the-Line update, considering that the last one was nearly two months ago (plus, this will get rid of another draft post that's been languishing since 18th August).  Aside from the rapidly disappearing End-of-the-Line, the local geography/geology seems to be getting back to normal thanks to the high tides and rough seas scouring away the fallen cliff detritus.

 This is a photo-heavy post so, like the last one, I'm not going to be doing much talking.

A Cloudy Horizon

 After returning from work on Tuesday, a vexing evening was had dealing with administrative matters instigated by The Father on my behalf without my knowledge!  A smidgen of joy was squeezed out of the whole situation when I launched into my "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary" act, causing The Father to huff and puff a lot, as well as swear under his breath.  Result!
 Anyway, once the minor dramatics were over, I flounced* off down to the beach to relax and take some photos of the sunset.  Except I was thwarted due to the clouds congregating on the horizon...

Sunday Swim: Sea Monster Off the Port Bow!

 Once in a blue moon, the North Sea off the North Norfolk coast becomes so warm and crystal clear, that it attracts a certain cryptid lifeform to its inviting waters.
 Unfortunately, I didn't realise that today was one of those "blue moon days", and popped down to the beach here in Overstrand for a late-afternoon dip.
 Things were going swimmingly until a sudden chill alerted me that something wasn't quite right...

 I wasn't going to, but I couldn't help myselves...  I've unleashed another copious load of spume!

 The sheltered gardens of Château DeVice were far too hot to potter about in yesterday morning, so I took a walk Ministry of Funny Walks hobble (bloody sciatica) down to the promenade to cool off in the East wind.  It was surprisingly rough down there...

 I don't know about the rest of the country (Ms Scarlet? Jon? Hound? Mitzi?), but North Norfolk has continued to enjoy normal weather for the time of year since that dratted snow departed at the beginning of the month.  With an unexpected, but welcome, lull in duties, obligations, and chores, I took to the beach on Sunday afternoon and came back with the following photos:

2018: Starting As We Mean To Go On

 Firstly: Happy New Year everyone!

  Right.  Now that that's out of the way, secondly: For 2018 we were going to completely change this blog - new content for a fresh start.  Out with the old, and in with the new!

 However, coming up with new ideas, new themes, new everything just felt like far too much effort, so we switched on the autopilot and let it churn out the same old stuff as always.  As the following photos demonstrate.

Besides, some of you seem to like it judging by the comments in the previous post.

And if you don't and were just being polite, ha!  Another year of the same old beach photos and ropey old Star Trek art work is already in the pipeline!

As we were a little early, and the sun was rising over the land rather than the sea, we made our way to Tower Lane in Sidestrand for the best view.  Here's the End-of-the-Line as seen from space the cliff top

  The following photos were taken on Saturday afternoon as I walked in to Cromer along the beach.  I needed some fresh air and exercise after eating almost my own body weight of "beige food" at work on Friday (we had a buffet for someone's leaving do, which was placed on the empty desk next to me!), and spending most of Saturday morning dealing with sisters and their various offspring.
  I decided to go to Cromer to see if I could find a suitable prize for Savvy's Tin Foil Hat win (I did say I'd send the prize "whenever I can be bothered", remember?).
