Speaking of clouds...

... we finally got some rain on Friday night/Saturday morning!

And to prove it, here are some photos of the classic British Summertime's cloudy sky from yesterday (it didn't last though, as the last three photos illustrate):

The Autopremier (last seen here) was one of many ships plying the horizon

By Saturday afternoon, the weather had sorted itself out and returned to the now normal blue sky and scorching temperatures.  However, one, tiny, lone cloud remained:

oOo

I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little bit bored of all these posts full of photos that are only variations on the themes that I've already posted before. Well, the next post will be completely different, I promise. And after that, I may have a Star Trek-related something-or-other to show you (if I manage to knuckle down today and concoct something for this month's art challenge), as well as a book post that I need to squeeze in before Ms Scarlet finally "slaps up" the Book-on-a-Chair busting "exciting new series of posts" that she threatened us with towards the end of June (it's a good job she's at least as lazy and/or procrastinatory as me!).  It's all go!

  1. The damn clouds left you and came over here! That little one is just by way of a threat.

    1. Oh, I wondered where they went to in such a hurry.

  2. Ooh! I haven't had so much excitement since...um...probably not since we put the new heavy-duty batteries in Muriel's vibrator.

  3. It turned thoroughly miserable on us on Friday, and has lasted all weekend - and we don't even have the seaside to cheer us up! Jx

PS I like beach photos more than I like Star Trek [am I going to get banned for saying that?].

    1. I take it the sunshine has returned to Londinium now, Jon? If it makes you (and you, Hound. Oh, and you, Ms Scarlet) feel any better, we were treated to a downpour yesterday morning, and this morning. Luckily, I'd already reached work both times before the heavens opened.

I would ban you, but I don't have a spiffy little card to give out like The Very Mistress does. And as I'm too lazy to make one, you can stay. For now.

  4. I got soaked through this morning. We have had a deluge in Devon, I am not complaining though as the green is coming back to life. It's supposed to warm up again here by the end of the week.
Ah. Yes. I did say something about a new series.... soon... soon... at least before Christmas. I hope. Keep my seat warm I'll be back for Corrie....

    1. The poor plants. They'll green up just in time to be fried to a crunchy crisp again.

As for your new series, so I've probably got time to have a last dalliance with a chair and some books, then?

  5. Gorgeous skies! The future generations won't believe that you actually had a tropical island summer, a real summer with heat, sun, and warm enough to swim in the waters. Or it could be the start of climate change. I'm not a fan of freezing winter, so enjoy the sun while you can! Winter is coming!

Love the tiny beach huts that add color and cheerful vibes to the fantastic beach.

If there were coconuts growing, I'd swear you're living in the tropics!

    1. Perhaps the future generations won't believe that we had something called "rain"? That strange phenomenon of water falling from the sky. Most peculiar...

We may not have coconut palms, but I do have two or three pineapple lilies. Not quite the same thing, though.

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
