Sunshine, Seal Snouts, and Sigils

Well, my week off work is rapidly coming to an end and I've got shit-all to show for it, really.  So, it's a good job I've got another week off in October to do all the things I didn't get around to this week!
One thing I managed to do on Thursday was to chalk my eye device sigil on the sea wall so I can see what's going on should I not make it down to the seafront.
Oh, I do have a handful of photos from various early mornings and countryside wanderings though, so sit back and prepare to feast your eyes on almost nothing that you haven't seen before!

Monday

The branches of this giant oak tree reach down into a disused Northrepps gravel pit

Blue, No.3 (Ms Scarlet's original can be seen here.  I don't know where my No.2 went?)

Tuesday

Slipway sunrise

Cliffs

Crack, No.2 - the first can be found here (with the aftermath here)

Swalinge

A snoozing seal snout

Wednesday

Slipway sunrise

Thursday

Slipway sunrise

Moon

Friday

I don't know what happened here, but Camera is overdramatising celestial bodies again

This is how the Moon really appeared

I was a bit early, so here's the slipway but no sunrise

Bunnies!

The sun had to work extra hard to climb over this cloudy horizon...

... then it stopped for a rest on the end of this groyne

Slipway sunrise at last!

Be good - I'm watching you!

  1. The cliffs and moon pic are my favorite. I really love the sigil too. I don't scratch anything out, I have an army of Spotted Towhees for that.

How did I get to be first? Whoo hoo!

    1. I'd never heard of towhees before, but having looked them up, aren't they lovely little birds?! Such distinctive colours (my favourite jumper has stripes of the same colours).

    2. What's a jumper again? Pants? Sorry. I like watching the towhee do its distinctive two-footed hop-rake movement. Sometimes it will be hanging out with other small birds like Juncos and Chickadees and then do something, to suddenly startle them. I see no other reason for it to do this other than for its own amusement.

    3. I looked it up, you mean sweater. When I first hear the word I think overalls, but then I think, eh, I don't see a lot of British people walking around in overalls it must mean something else. I'll never get used to that one. A lift, loo, nappy and buggy all make sense to me, but I can't adapt to Jumper equaling Sweater. :)

    4. Ha! Yes, a stripy sweater! Fancy me having to look up something you mentioned only for you to have to do the same in return ;)

  2. Oh! The cliff-crack-drama again!

I can only imagine what it feels like to have a rising sun performing a balancing act on the the tip of a groyne... Jx

    1. It might burn a bit...?

(Yes, the cliffs are a bit of a one-note wonder. They've found something they're good at and now do it all the time.)

    2. I have an ointment for that sort of thing.

    3. Industrial strength no doubt*, Very Mistress?

For the Infomaniac Bitches, not you, of course.

  3. Can the Sigil take beautiful photographs?
And a word of warning - Do not stand beneath a crack!
Goodness, I haven't seen a clear blue sky for a while! Yesterday was grey and mizzling, despite the forecast saying otherwise, and next week is apparently going to be full-on October with the heating rumbling in the background - I have washed my woollens and ironed my vest in preparation.

    1. No, unfortunately, my sigil cannot take photos. And I have to prepare myself before I tune in just in case someone ghastly is lumbering past at the time - I don't want an eyeful of side-boob or socks-&-sandals (although, with the temperatures dropping, those types of horror should drop off rapidly).

    1. The tide was almost as far out as it gets for the cliffs photo, so I was able to get really far back and get a good, wide shot.

My full moon hasn't been out since the beginning of August - although, it may be on the rise later this morning as I may pop down for a swim.

I'm glad to hear that you're preparing for the Garden Photos Event. Only a month to go - Eeeek!

  5. How many years have you been working on this list of things to do?
My own approach was revolutionised by deciding not to have jobs to do and only do what I feel like. Thus I have a continual sense of accomplishment and if anything really needs doing I will actually feel like doing it.
If you don't feel like doing the jobs and you can put them off, they don't really need doing.

    1. Oh, I was really stupid and made a list of things I wanted/needed to do, and now I feel that I must do them. Although, I've done some things that weren't on the list which has made me feel better, so I'm sure they have cancelled out the listed items.
      Your way is MUCH better!

    2. Yes the things you did which weren't on the list are the things which drew you. A friend bought a house and even when viewing it thought the wallpaper in one room would have to be changed at once. It was still there twenty years later....

    3. I expect the wallpaper finally came back into fashion?

P.S. I crossed another thing off th elist on Sunday - I washed (and vacuumed out) Car!

  6. Oh!I love that balancing sun!

Our weather's getting a LOT warmer.I'm running around moving some things into shady spots. I was a bit slack with some anthuriums.

    1. Oh, dear... No one enjoys a scorched and wilted spadix.

P.S. I read that as Antirrhinum, which reminds me: I have a couple of Antirrhinum seedlings in the greenhouse to plant out. They popped up from the pot that my snail-marmalised "Gloriosa" flame lily was in, and it's only now that they're bigger that I recognised what they are.

    2. I don't even have a Gloriosa now. (Note to self: get down to the mangroves when the tide's out and scrabble for Gloriosa)

    1. Looks like you've got that crack all to yourself, Upton, as Jon's had his fill (or filled it) with the last one.

  8. Love the picture of the oak tree branches, and the blazing, barred sunrise. How does an eye sigil work?

    1. The oak branches looked much better in real life - the photo doesn't really convey how deep that disused pit is that they're reaching down into.

Well, I don't know about anyone else's, but my eye sigil is supposed to allow me to see out of it when I'm elsewhere. However, it - like many of my trappings and accessories - is rather temperamental and seems to like blinking quite a lot...

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
