Owlspring/Tips Diagram*

This diagram was devised to chart the tendancy of wizards, who start out small and pale, to progress through the craft getting bigger and cholerically redder until at last they swell up and explode in a cloud of pomposity.**

33. Unseen Academicals, by Terry Pratchett

Ummm... I've nearly finished it...

It's been a most trying and busy month, so reading has kind of gone out the window. I probably will finish this by tomorrow evening, though.

* from page 198

** unfortunately, there's no actual diagram available so you'll just have to imagine it based on this Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram interpretation. Just substitute the stars for wizards.

  1. This look like a rolliking good read. I shall check Hogwarts Library and get Madam Pince to reserve me a copy.
    Thank you.

    It's been years since I've read any Pratchett.

  4. Is this required reading at the Coven Book Club?

  5. Princess: What is this Hogwarts of which you speak? I'm sure I know not of your gist.

    xl: Perhaps it would. Or maybe a Pie Chart? Wizards certainly do love their pies!

    Roses: The early ones are definitely the best.

    That's not to say the later books are bad - They're really very good. It's just that I prefer Sir Pratchett's older work.

    MJ: You'll only whine if I say yes. What kind of reading material would you prefer? Something by Barbara Cartland?

  6. MJ - No, it is not. I got bored of Pratchett books years ago. And I mean when I was, like, 14 or something.

    Similarly, we in the Coven do not encourage the reading of Star Trek novels either, do we IDV?
