A Cold Car

Car's going in for it's M.O.T. tomorrow morning. Wish us luck!

It was a bit nippy this morning (and has been all day, actually), so the sunless sides of Car were covered in frost

In fact, most of Car stayed frosty all day as the sun just isn't getting high enough to clear the trees and houses surrounding us. Roll on the winter solstice
Frost atop Car

EDIT 19:57 30th November - Waaaaaaaaah! The what-I-thought-were minor holes in the floorplan turned out to be major structural problems which will warrant taking half of Car apart to fix. And it won't be cheap or be able to be done anytime soon, so I'll be getting the train to work for the next week or two... :(

  2. Are you going for a lube job while you're at it?

    2. Oh, sorry. Maybe they don't do that anymore? Time was, if you hadn't paid the tax, you stuck a Guinness lable on the windscreen.Ask anyone over 50.

  4. I had encountered the term "MOT" without knowing what it was until I started watching Wheeler Dealers who sometimes have MOT fails.

    Best wishes on the MOT!

  5. And nothing worst than putting your bare fanny on cold seats, when with a gentleman caller.

    1. Over here "a bare fanny" has a whole different meaning... I doubt that Mr Device possesses such a thing. Jx

  6. Good luck on the MOT! After living and driving in parts of the country that experience harsh winters and blizzards, I now keep a jacket with gloves and a beanie/knit hat in the car at all times, in case I break down somewhere freezing. Also, I have an emergency blanket and poncho in the car. This post reminds me to update my emergency supplies for my vehicle. A friend was curious about my emergency snacks--dehydrated food packets and cereal bars. He ate my emergency supplies! Then had the nerve to say that I should've had more!

  7. But darling think how fit you'll be with all that putting your feet through the floor and powering the car ny foot!
Actually I realise this is no real comfort and sympathise with the no doubt huge bill you'll get. Is the mechanic fit?

    1. Ha! This has cheered me up - imagining Fred-Flintstoning it to work!

I won't see the mechanic as I'll be at work, but if he is fit, Car has instructions to snap him up in its boot once he's finished the work!

  8. "what-I-thought-were minor holes in the floorplan turned out to be major structural problems"

YIKES! Due to road salt? When I lived in Michigan the winter road salt caused massive rust damage to my car. ):

    1. (whisper) It's actually because it's an Alfa Romeo, but we won't tell IVD that...

  9. That's nothing.... my washing machine won't work and I think it's due to a frozen pipe.
