Enough Moping - Time For Gardening!

 After a week of moping and mourning, this weekend's wet and blustery turn was rather a let down.  So, instead of dwelling on that and before we get to the gardening bit, here are some photos taken last weekend when I ventured down to the beach for a swim.

Garden Photos Event

 

 I'll do a proper reminder early next month, but if you haven't done so already, start taking photos of your current horticultural hotties/good-looking greenery/pretty-as-a-picture plant-life, and remember to winkle out those old photos of your gardens/terraces/balconies/window boxes/pot plants of yesteryear (ideally something that hasn't featured in the GPE before), too.  Oh, and Terrifying Triffidery is still a thing, so get snapping your monstrous specimens (or otherwise ordinary undergrowth but from strange angles/close up/while drunk) for the GPE preview event at Hallowe'en.  Ideally, I'd like all your photos by midnight on Saturday 29th October, but knowing what some of you are like - Savvy! - I'll take what I can get when I can get it.  And that includes you and your marigolds, Mr Tonking!

 While I'm still not exactly sure what I'm going to display at this year's event, I've already started preparations for next year's GPE:

I took some Fuchsia cuttings in August and they're all coming along nicely.  You can see classic varieties such as "Next to the Swing" and "Opposite the Garage Door"

Oh.  Now you start sprouting!  After two years of nothing.  Nothing!

My Starfish Iris (Ferraria crispa, first seen here back in January 2021) finally deigns to spring to life.  In the Autumn!  Now I've got to try and keep it alive through the winter.  Bah!

Moss is finally growing in the channels between the paving slabs that make up the hideous circular paysho.  It may not look so stark next year, now.

 Now, if you'll excuse me, I've just heard from the coastguard that Ms Scarlet is parading about on the beach in her marabou-trimmed nightie, so I've got to go and retrieve her before the tide comes in...

P.S. It seems something's wrong with Blogger/my Sideboard, as I had the devil of a time to publish this, and I can't visit everyone's blogs.  Hopefully whatever it is will have sorted itself out by morning, because I can't face dealing with it now, so I'm off to bed instead.
