Well, it's that time of year now when I'm up before the sun manages to struggle above the horizon. However, it does make for some dramatic and colourful early morning skies, as these photos (hopefully) show.
The panoramic view above, and those below are from yesterday:
The slightly out of focus slipway |
Stripes! |
Too garish for gulls |
"Would you excuse me, Mr Hutton. I'm a little bit on fire" |
Here comes the sun... |
Fire in the Sky |
Oh, come on! |
That's a bit better |
Slipway sunrise - at last |

I think the sun and sky must have overexerted themselves yesterday because the sun was nowhere to be seen this morning. I think from now on, any early morning photos will star a different heavenly body...
These are so beautiful! I want to come live there! We're seriously starting to consider moving to British Columbia where it still feels like home but we don't have to deal with this seriously messed up healthcare system, political gerrymandering and other "stuff" that is really getting out of hand. We just want a quiet, reasonable place to live where we can be by the water.
ReplyDeleteFor whatever my 2 cents is worth, I think the first picture would make a lovely top banner picture for your site. Or if you had a picture like this and wrote "Inexplicable Device" in the sand? Just a thought.
D'you know, I did consider (and still am) using that top photo as a new banner image. Especially as I haven't featured Ferrero Rocher in months, so the current image is a little out of fashion...
DeletePerhaps your new (well, reasonably new) president will start fixing things now he's "bedded in", which will save you a move?
Although, I'd rather live in Canada than the US, too...
A bit of change now and then is good, but it's your place, don't let me impose like the boorish American I sometimes tend to be.
DeleteBiden is useless! Trump was dangerous, but Biden's uselessness is a threat to the US people in a different way. I expect to live another 50 flippin' more years! It seems I should look for a more tolerable political climate to spend those 50 years in. We voted for Buttigieg, he seemed genuine in his desire to be a voice of the people. He also would have been the first Gay (and most handsome) prez since JFK, but no, they stuck with a crusty old white dude hoping to lure away Republicans that weren't happy with Trump and who were too conservative to ever accept a gay President. By doing that, they devalue the rest of our voices and once again take us for granted. Maybe conditions will finally ripen for a third party candidate to get serious leverage against this two party oligarchy. You got any spells to help me with that? I only work in chaotic good. No hexes.
Gorgeous stuff. I love that stripes photo and Mr. Hutton phot. You have quite the eye, sugar pie! Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteThank you (as always), Upton! My photos are mainly of the point-n-click variety, but I guess one does have to decide where to point...
DeleteThe whole center of this post got me. Those pictures warmed me up tonight.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm happy to saved you a little off your fuel/heating bill!
DeleteOh my goodness -Stripes!!!!! That's a corker of a picture.

I think Camera might have been on something when it took that one, but it's not far off. It really was a stunning sunrise!
DeleteOh! The drama... Jx
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
Delete"Your shame is never ending;
DeleteJust one psychological drama after another!"
And the sunrises, too. Jx
It's no good; I can't pick a fave. You'll just have to rotate them each time you post. (says the woman who hasn't changed her header in years...)
ReplyDeleteI useless enough at deciding which photos to include in a post, nevermind having to choose a header image too. I think I'd explode with anxt!
