No. Not that sort of earworm!
The earworms that I wish to bring to your attention are far less unpleasant. You might even find them to be delightful. If not, you can always go back to that Ceti eel slithering into Chekov's ear...
First up, a couple of tracks from Perfume Genius' forthcoming album: "On The Floor" and "Describe" - I can't get enough of these two! I play "On The Floor" over and over and over, then break it up with "Describe" before going back. The videos are quite captivating, too. (It was Mitzi who brought Perfume Genius to my attention back here)
Now, on to something more lighthearted and fun: the themes from Steven Universe and Steven Universe Future:
And, finally, "When She Finds You" by Shakespears Sister:
That is all.
Blimey, cigar smoking, farmyard animals, and contemporary dance, all in one video - bit like a remake of The Wicker Man.

Did The Wicker Man have a leaf blower, I wonder?
Delete...ah Shakespears Sister.... more my thing really.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tunes, Mr Devine!!
Sx
You are very welcome, Ms Scarlet.
DeleteI need that 'Write Panic' sign!!!! Fabulous Mr Devine - it captures the spirit of the er... spirited yarn!

Oh, yes. That. I threw it together as a placeholder with the intention of making a different/better one, but just haven't got around to it yet. I don't like the "A Write" font that much - It'd be much better in your beautiful calligraphy (hint hint).
DeleteThank you. You are a voice of reason in an insane world
ReplyDeleteExcept for the odd mention of Delilah Smythe, this blog shall only contain good things, with nary a mention of the horrors/insanity of reality.
DeleteMostly.
(Oh, and railway embankments at some point in the near future...)
Reality?
DeleteI look forward avidly to the forthcoming embankments!
It was Christine and the Queens that brought Perfume Genius to my attention and now he's my fantasy husband.
ReplyDeleteWell, your fantasy husband is looking a bit grubby in his latest videos. Perhaps you should give him a good scrub down?
DeleteLove that Shakespear's Sister one - they've captured that Gene Pitney/Roy Orbison sound perfectly! And Richard Hawley's vocal is faboo. He's a man who has always "been in the background" of some great music, not least the sublime After the Rain which he wrote for Dame Shirley Bassey's Performance album; and as musician/arranger on All Saints' Under the Bridge, Tony Christie's Made in Sheffield album, and his work with Robbie Williams, Jarvis Cocker, Texas and many others. Jx
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I'd never heard of Richard Hawley before this was released, although I certainly have heard many of the songs he's been a part of.
