  1. WOW!!! Thank you for the heads up! They are super stylish aren't they? And make Bananarama's recent return look a little bit pants.

    1. Just a bit (in response to the "super stylish" and "a little bit pants" comments).

I never thought the day would come when the 'Sisters' would make up and reform - I'm ecstatic! I always wanted to be like Siobhan - so effortlessly cool with her attitude, style, performance expressions, and sequins!

  2. I had no idea either! I used to love them, but to be fair I too like me some Bananarama too.

    1. I was a little concerned that everyone knew about the return of Shakespears Sister except me, and that my PSA was a waste of space, but that both you and Ms Scarlet were unaware has made it worthwhile.

I do like a bit of Bananarama. Venus, Robert DeNiro's Waiting and Nathan Jones are favourites.
As Darwin's Daughters once said: "You can take the girl out of Bananarama, but you can't take Bananarama out of the girl."

  3. I did read about it in an article in The Guardian, and they're still not exactly "chums":

"Marcella says: “I’ve been busy trying to mop up those longstanding grudges, but this was a major one.”

“It was unexpectedly emotional, and that took me by surprise,” counters Siobhan."

I didn't play the video then, however, so this is the first viewing - and I love it. I bet it'll go down a storm with the lesbians!

    1. I can't imagine their relationship will ever be all sweetness and light. I don't know so much about Marcy, but Siobhan seems very creative (i.e. bonkers) - however, in that interview up there, they did both admit to how similar they are...

  4. I shall tiptoe quietly away and binge-watch so I'll know what you're all o n about.
I thought Bananarama was that Fijian fellow who staged a coup...

    Far too sheltered, me

    1. Me, too. I didn't know there was a coup in Fiji, and the only person I could think of was Che Guava (I know it's Guevara, but I thought you were making a little joke. Although, it seems I'm making an even smaller one - anyone got a magnifying glass?).

  5. Poor Robert De Niro has been reduced to flogging Bagels for Warburtons a nod to Bainimarama's Robert De Niro's Waiting is included in the ad.

    1. Ha! I quite like that. And I know who Bainimarama is now, thanks to frantic googling in order to answer Dinahmow (although, again, at first I thought you were making a joke about 'bain' being French for bread but I realise now that it's 'pain'... I'm really not very good at this).

  6. This is the first time I've heard of these ladies, but I liked them very much. Who knew?

    1. They're not bad, are they (aside from Siobhan now looking rather like an aged Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz).

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
