High Tide at the End-of-the-Line

Brought to you in association with Connie and Carl the collared doves

So, these are the rubbish-less, graffiti-less, "massive knob-fest"-less (thank you, Jon x) photos that didn't make it into the previous post.

Ah.  Here we are at the End-of-the-Line.  Although, it appears to be occupied...

Not a cormorant in sight

Jostling for position

Smug.

It almost looks like some far-flung, holiday destination.  Almost...

This truly is the End-of-the-Line

Better head back...

You can see how much the tide had gone out in the time it took me to get back, if you compare this photo to the sixth one from the previous post

Atmospheric zoom-in to finish

  1. No knobs this time, so I suppose we'll make do with some encrusted old groynes...

...and it seems from pic #14 that one needs a ladder to reach yours!

  3. Gulls are smug, aren't they? Sitting there, lording it over all they survey with their ketchup smeared beaks, waiting to nick your chips when you're not looking. Tut.

    1. I don't know why I bothered with those photos? Gylls are no where near as interesting as cormorants.
Do you know, the last time I saw a cormorant was in February in Norwich. Yes, in the city! I took a couple of photos (with Phone, so they're pretty crappy), so I'll find them out for a future post.

    2. "Gylls"? I meant "Gulls". Although, Gylls sound far more interesting!

  4. Ah so you do have hooligans in the shape of gulls. They are my favourite thing, noisy, boorish and aggressive.
    Innit blood?

  5. Those doves look like my Bonnie and Clyde! I was up at the lake the other day and got some great snaps of some very cool birds. With being off and out of doors in the glorious weather, I haven't been blogging lately. Maybe tomorrow.....

    1. I did think of you (and Bonnie & Clyde) when Connie & Carl flew down on to the rocks. I'm looking forward to seeing your Cool & (un)Usual Suspects.

    1. Oh, dear. Sounds like nothing has changed, Beast. I'm imagining a lot arm waving & gesticulating, plus shouting and a bit of indignation from Mr C, while you absorb it all with a forlorn expression on your face.
Or is all the arm waving Mr C's seagull management technique?

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
