Hexenhäusli deVice in the Arms of Orion

 After haranguing in your multitudes, I -
 "Multitudes?!?  I hardly think that an amount that can be counted on the fingers of one hand classes as haranguing.
Even a Norfolk one.  But not this one...
And I don't think anyone actually harangued - It was more like polite asking, if you ask me.
 Well, I didn't ask you.  Nobody did!  Anyway, some of you asked to see the DeVice Mansion, so here it is:

Hexenhäusli deVice - aka the DeVice Mansion - a week before we moved in

The kitchen (well, duh!)

The gracious hall/foyer.  One day soon, I'm going to stand on the stairs with a glass of Champagne just like Linda Evans as Krystle Carrington in the Dynasty opening titles!

The landing

The master bedroom, aka my boudoir

Car from my bedroom window earlier today.  Look!  I've got blinds up!

But not curtains.  Three pairs of beautiful curtains lie draped over my chair waiting for curtain poles to be put up

::

 This is Orion as seen from the rear spare bedroom on my first night in the DeVice Mansion. It's a bit of a crap photo because I hadn't realised that Camera had zoomed in a bit and cut off his head and arms.
 Luckily, there's a better one below from a couple of nights later which not only shows Orion, but the surrounding constellations, too.  I've even labelled a copy for your convenience!

::

 And here are some of my new Familiars in the back garden (well, just beyond it, actually).  I managed to escape from Chateau DeVice without Beaky noticing, but it's only a matter of time before the little bastard finds out where I'm living now and scares these poor sods off.

This is not the constellation Lepus (as seen in the photo above) in the daytime, it's just a rabbit

A very pale female pheasant

Possibly an isabelline mutation?

Grass is being laid down a week on Monday

::

 So, there you have it.  Once I get everything sorted out inside and in the garden, I'll probably share a few more photos.

oOo

 In other news: BEAST is back!  (Quelle horreur!)

 Next up: Discovering Derrières!  (Not BEAST's)

  1. Hexenhäusli deVice is very lovely, inside and out!

    Does Car get to sleep in one of the garages at night?

    1. Unfortunately, the garage is still rather chaotic what with various boxes full of stuff that hasn't been sorted out yet, and the carport is often used as a staging/loading area, so Car either sleeps on the drive (where that white van is in the first photo), or out the front (as seen from my bedroom window). One day Car will be tucked up in the garage. One day...

    1. Ah. Yes. Orion's third "leg" is, in fact, his sword. Which could also be a euphemism...

  4. Loads of potential there! It's funny, I never imagined you as the "new-build" type. Can't wait to see how you transform it... Jx

    PS Krystle was never the most stylish diva of those fabulosa 80s melodrama-soaps; Alexis was more my type...

    1. Perhaps, Mr.DeVice can be Sable to your Alexis?

    2. It was Krystle's fascinating hair-do that sucked me in. Well, that and her absolutely enormous shoulder pads.
      When Indescribable and I used to play "Dynasty" back in the 80s, I was always Krystle, and she was always Alexis. As well as re-enacting the infamous pool and sequin fights, there was a lot of name calling. In our house, screeches of "Ooh, you bitchy haddock!"* could often be heard from upstairs.

      * I'm quite sure Alexis never called anyone a haddock - bitchy or otherwise - during Dynasty's run. I don't know how/why we picked this saying up?

    3. Capt'n Haddock somehow got a fishfinger in ?

    4. Or, possibly, a precursor to the now famous cod variety: the haddockfangler?!?

  5. Oh what a charming abode! I love it. The boudoir...is that where all the magic will happen? I can already see that backyard when your through with it.

  6. Lovely big kitchen, Mr Device! And a woodland beyond the back garden? I hope you are very happy in your new home!

    1. The "woodland" is really an embankment that once carried the old railway line. On the other side are the allotments, including The Mother's and mine!

  7. Don't be surprised if you come home one day to find I have moved in and itching for a fight.

    Does your new house have a downstairs bog?

    1. You'd better hope I don't have Blake with me, then!

      A downstairs... "bog"?!?

      **staggers in shock and manages to find a seat in the downstairs water closet**

  8. I, too, wouldn't have thought you would like a brand new house. Still hinges can be adjusted to make doors creak and so on...
    Congratulations!
    I'm looking forward to the bums.

    1. I must admit, a new build wasn't my first choice as I like something with a bit of character. However, the only pre-lived in houses I looked at and liked, were also pre-died in, and the still resident non-living were rather disagreeable.
      Plus, gingerbread doesn't have that long of a shelf life, even with a good preservative spell.

      Bums on the way soon!

    But your door is NOT green.

    1. I am a little disappointed with the door colour. We're not allowed to change it for a few years (I can't remember how many).

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
