Dandy Horse Distraction

Mago showed us his - and after a modicum of light pestering - I'll show you mine:

Unveiling the Velocipede
For those occasions when taking Broom out is not an option (i.e. in daylight, mostly), I can't be bothered to walk, and I can't justify a relatively short trip in Car (i.e. to Indescribable's temporary woodland abode), Bike is summoned to transport me, if not in style, then at least in relative efficacy.

Bike hadn't even gone half a mile before stopping for a rest! Lazy...

Not bad for a 30odd year old bike, though.

There. That's that out of the way so you can get on with crafting your "four" themed Tin Foil Hats (with or without rubber duck/s). There's only one week left until the submission deadline (19th August), remember!

  1. I'd always thought you were tall and I'm delighted to see I was right.
Of course having shown it on the internet you'll have to take precautions lest the saddle gets stolen. I mean, many a young man reading this will be simply green with envy at the lucky place the saddle holds in your life.
Oh dear, I've lowered the tone again. And this was a completely innuendo-free post!

    1. That saddle is a right pain in the arse - quite literally! Many a young man are welcome to it!
      The saddle, not my arse...
Well, it depends who they are...
(I thought I might as well join you in the depths)

    2. And you're welcome, my dear. Do you sing songs by Divine as you pedal along in your cycle shorts?

    3. Cycle shorts? Heavens forbid! No one needs to see my lily-whites again (although, they are now less white). And I mutter rather than sing. Things like: "Get out of the bloody way, you twat!" and "Stop dithering around", and "Cripes this hill is steep. I'm getting off and walking...".

    1. Hasn't it?! I haven't even started on my hat.

Bike is very particular about what it eats. Sticks, hems of jeans, fingers... But not ragwort (mostly because all the cinnabar moth caterpillars eat it all first!).

  4. What a beauty !
A fine example of the "reduce to the max"-approach.

    Deadline ... ? Pfff ...

    1. Indeed! Although, while I was doing some research into when the Raleigh Activator was first released, I came across several derisory reviews - too heavy, clunky, poor at steering, ugly etc - but almost everyone of the reviewers went on to say they really, really wanted one!

As for the Tin Foil Hat deadline. I'm thinking the same thing (as all I've got so far is a sketch) - Maybe I'll allow a four day extension?

    2. I hadn't spotted it was a Raleigh. Lucky you got it when you did - a few years earlier and you'd have been showing the world your Chopper!

    3. I say! If I had a monocle, it would be in my gin right now (or water - after all, it's a school night).

    1. Well, it can't be so you can keep your legs together, so there must be another reason...?

  6. Oh dear...I thought I'd commented here. I was probably thrown over the handlebars by the reminder of the deadline.
I've had an absolutely brilliant idea, but can't do it x 4. Back to my ouja board...

That's better than a drawing board because I can summon help from genii past.

    1. Well, pick yourself up and get some aantiseptic for those scrapes - we'll have you right as rain in no time. Especially as I'm considering extending the deadline...

Have the genii suggested just making one then photographing it four times? If not, I'd trade them in for better models.

  7. Jaunty ride!

A long time ago "a friend" had the idea of selling wallpaper with an image of an antique bike with "Another Birmingham Bicycle" underneath. Believe it or not, drugs were not involved.

    1. Drugs may not have been involved with your "friend" designing and selling this wallpaper, but what of the buyers?!?

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
