S A V V Y
These are some random shots of what's growing in the garden today.
[21st February - IDV]
[...] The poppies just started blooming, but we've had big clumps of green leaves waiting patiently for their arrival.
I don't the name of the succulents that are blooming near the curb, but perhaps one of y'all might know from the close-up. (I know I could look it up, but...)
[The Official Plant Spotter of Hexenhäusli Device and its Extended Witchdom, nay, All of Blogdom Itself, Jon, came to the rescue with: "That orange succulent is (I believe) Aloe striata, and very lovely it is too!" - IDV]

A few garden photos from the front garden. The last pic is the first rose to come inside!
[From March - IDV]
[I don't think that's a snake...? - IDV]
[Well, of course it is - IDV]
[How fitting that Savvy shows us California poppies in California - IDV]
[Those are the glossiest rose leaves I have ever seen! - IDV]
[I took the liberty of including a later rose of Savvy's (from April, on the right) to demonstrate that they didn't all look like the first one - IDV]

The last photo is a quick arrangement by our head gardener, the MITM.
* Although she sent in photos** - and several days before the deadline, if you can believe it - Savvy's only comment in her email was "Several garden pics - you choose". Well, I chose all of them naturally, but I also chose to raid her blog - just like I've done a couple of times before - for photo captions and the title to this post. I found it here in May and couldn't resist!
Thank you, Savvy!
P. S. Is your triffid, 'The Plant That Took Over The World', the same one as the triffid lurking behind the banana-leaf print drape here?
** This was the last photo in Savvy's email:

Oh! How I mis the sunshine at this time of year... Thanks for the reminders. Savvy! Jx
