GPE #10 : Savvy is the Idea Person/Supervisor

I will have lots of photos for IDV's Garden Competition* Exposition. It will always be a competition for me. (RIP LX) said dear

S A V V Y

The MITM is a very enthusiastic by default the gardener (because I'M the idea person/supervisor) and has been doing a splendid job! We'll have more pictures as our container garden grows! (OK, when  HE plants some more.)

IDV, I will be submitting all of these and more photos for this year's Gardening Contest**!! Be prepared!

However...

Due to emotional fallout from a most unfortunate event involving a lumpen, orange, loud-mouthed oaf, dear Savvy has not been in the right frame of mind to fully participate in this year's Infomaniac Garden Photos Event.  But, she did give me permission to use the photos she'd already posted on her own blog to construct this GPE post on her behalf.  Which was just as well, as I'd already bookmarked the relevant posts should Savvy have reverted to type and forgotten/ignored/got-lost-in-time/fallen-into-an-alternate-universe etc. and not been able to take part.

So, back to Savvy and the results of her ideas and supervision:

From the ROSE GARDEN here!!!

[If I had a favourite, this bunch would be it - Just look at those gorgeous colours! - IDV]

The MITM's California Poppies have started to bloom! I'll take a picture later when we have more than one bud!  He was so excited that he took a photo of the one bloom for all y'all to see!

This final photo from the end of December last year I'm including because...  Well, you'll see:

This year's theme for my birthday party is "Gardener's World" which just happens to be one of my favorite shows!

The cake was a delicious chocolate with chocolate filling delight!

Savvy, thank you for posting photos of your gardening supervisory prowess throughout the year, and I hope you feel more like yourself very soon (if you don't already).  Oh, and as with Ms Nations' post, I'm sorry about the colour of the typeface - your actual dark red doesn't show up very well against my dark grey-black background, so I had to lighten it up a bit.

The next and final garden of the Event is my own, so I'll see you there in a couple of days time!

* May I remind you all that the Infomaniac Garden Photos Event is NOT a competition!
** Really?!

    1. Before the recent cold snap there was a bud on the rose next to the red greenhouse here at Hexenhausli Device. I must check to see if it's still there or has frozen and fallen off.

  3. OMG!!!!!! I can smell those roses!!!!!!! They are so beautiful Savvy, what a selection. I bet to see all those roses in the garden must be something. I'm sure they must brighten your day...as I know they would mine despite the low mood in the country of late. And my favorite cake? I knew I adored you. This brightened my night.

  4. Beautiful and here is a song to commemorate them. My mother used to cut roses for the house, she would cut hemlock from a nearby field and use it as a filler, can you imagine that!

    1. I find it useful to keep a bit of hemlock around - you never know when it might come in useful. Perhaps your mother had the same thought, Mitzi?

  7. Bloody Trump!! How dare he upset you like that, Savvy! The man's a cad, I say. But IDV saddled up and galloped to the rescue. The roses are stunning!

  8. The roses are lovely! I too think I too think I might be able to smell them despite the frost surrounding me. What a nice cake! Is that a young Monty Don? I like him! I saw him on some series they had on Netflix, but I forgot what it was, he was helping new gardeners pull together manageable garden design ideas and then helping them execute them on a budget.
