M A G O
Finally a few pictures for the Garden Photo Event, much too early, sorry.*
It is Plant A (I still call her so, despite the fact that it is not the original "plant A" of some years ago) - Plant A, I say, in total, from below, and an apple.
Sorry, no terrifying tryffidrie.
[That's what you thought! - IDV]
Plant A upskirt
[For comparison, this is Mago's new Plant A from two years ago.
Hasn't it grown since then! - IDV]

But, wait! Before we depart Mago's kitchen windowsill, what did I spy...
A flower? Eine Wachsblume? Is your Hoya carnosa (Eng., Ger.) flowering or is that something else, Mago? Enquiring minds want to know!
Flower or not, thank you for taking part, Mago. Your wax plant is doing marvellously well and it's nice to see her again.
* Just like Savvy, Mago had the audacity to get his photos in before the deadline. What is the world coming to?!?

Tolle Neuigkeiten!
ReplyDeleteI like Hoya - such strange flowers, and scented too! Jx
Yes, that is quite terrifying!! I think the plant may have broken the blind???
ReplyDeleteI hope it is a flower.
Sx
Thank You Jon - Plant A sends her best regards. It's not only the scent, but also the nectar, very sweet. She was very generous this year with those little porcellain buds dripping all over the place.
ReplyDeleteIn a way Plant A stepped out of time, and took a niche place besides.
No worries MsScarlet, she won't bite. Plant A becomes stronger, and hence she turns and flips the single Lamellen, but the blind as a whole hangs firm & proof, undisturbed by the additional weight of Plant A.
I am sorry IDV, I have no idea what you spotted up there. I usually do not inspect plant A too much. Now & then she calls me over and demands some drink, as is only natural. I really do not care what she does on the windowsill, as long as there is enough space for me to put a bottle or a can thither - obviously temporary, so she accepts. Not only man alone is a territorial being.
Thank You for allowing Plant A & me in !
Your 'orbital dance' with Plant A sounds like a mutually beneficial arrangement, what with her getting a drink and you getting to live...
DeleteAs for the possible flower, I'm not totally convinced that what it is as the flowers usually hang in a bunch, so it's odd to see just one, or the back thereof. Maybe the rest of the bunch are on the other side of the blinds?
Anyway, whatever it is, both you and Plant A are always welcome, dear Mago.
She's rampant!
ReplyDeleteA wild one !
DeleteWell done, Mr M! I've grown Hoyas in many places and often had trouble with them, but Mam'selle A. looks superb. And she's not going to take any nonsense from that Venetian!!
ReplyDeleteNaw she takes no nonsense from nobody. The occasional sip of Sylvaner helps to stay in the mood.
DeleteThe plant evidently loves vertical blinds. Talk about a growing trellis. The Hoya must love it.
ReplyDeleteMy pathetic try to help her with some wood-thing (I do not know the name for this ; trellis may be something much larger one uses in the garden ?), with some wood thing, I say, to help plant A upwards & beyond was largely ignored. She simply grabbed the Venetian by its Lamelle, and the rest is history.
ReplyDeleteYep, 'trellis' is the right word. Although sometimes preceded by 'indoor plant' for this smaller variety.
DeletePlant A looks like she could make mincemeat of even the larger outside variety of trellis, though!
Is the can of Czechvar part of your gardening process?
ReplyDeleteThere is always a can of Budvar waiting for you in my fridge !
DeleteIt's less part of the gardening process, but more of the metabolic process, part of the life-sustaining system
Why do ordinary when you can do a Hoya !
ReplyDeleteI love Hoya and it is not Ordinary.
Thank you Madam Arcati, Plant A and me are tickled.
DeleteYay! Looks good to me! The view beyond the vertical blind looks good to me, but I don't know which way it faces, so perhaps Plant A needs a bit of a shade shield throughout the day or year. A mighty warrior you've grown there, Mister Mago!
ReplyDeleteA Hoya to be reckoned with, no doubt Proxima !
