Sunrise 13

When I woke up this morning, I was delighted to discover that colour had returned to the world!  Yes, for the first time in what feels like months - although, at most it's only been about three weeks - the morning murk and oppressive, cloudy gloom had buggered off somewhere else leaving the sun to light up the sky.

Scarcely able to believe my eyes - and after only a modicum of dithering - I decided to forgo my first-thing-in-the-morning coffee and pop down to the seafront to take some photos.  And here they are:

 I've had my coffee now.

Oh, and the clouds have since thickened, so it is unrelenting grey once more...

  1. Well, it's nice that there was some colour somewhere. Not here though. Still raining.

    1. At least you're getting value from your wellies and/or umbrella.

      I hope today was better?

  2. It's very unedifying here, too; unending rain and gloom. We almost had a decent sunset last night, though. The sky started turning pink, then a blob of low cloud put a stop to all that... Ho hum. Jx

    1. What about today? Did you get some blue skies? After rain through the night, this morning started off sunny and relatively warm - and it remained that way all through the day!

Not that I'm bragging, or anything...

    3. Ah. Yes. Well. Perhaps tomorrow will be a little better? The forecast for Thursday looks promising - just right for your day off!

  3. Same here. We had a glorious day yesterday and today is almost in the high 60's...but I hear tomorrow it's cold and grey with a chance of snow.

  5. You went walkies BEFORE coffee? Dear gods! You are dedicated.Or bonkers

The metor showers and Jupiter and Saturn are expected to be spectacular...everywhere but her. Too much light pollution and possible low cloud.

    1. Bonkers, Dinah. Bonkers. I shan't be doing that again in a hurry.

I've just had a look at the forecast, and it seems we're in for clear(ish) skies tomorrow and Thursday, so I'll keep an eye out for any show-off planets.

  6. "Dithering." A word seldom heard this side of the pond. I like it.

  7. If you require more colour in your world I'm told LSD is back in fashion with the youngsters and can cause positive rainbows unless you have a bad trip.

    1. I'm not going to have to wear a bath robe in the street and dive into a tank full of humpback whales, am I?
