Ships Ahoy!

Just a few photos from this morning's saunter along the sands, with a rather surprising something lurking off the Cromer coast...

Oh, what's that on the horizon?

Ah, it's only Gulliver and its companion Esvagt Connector

The End-of-the-Line from the other side.  But, wait a minute...
What do I spy beyond the groynes off the coast at Cromer?

Hmmm...  I haven't seen the likes of you here before

Hey! Where are you going?

Pretending to be One Eyed Willy's Inferno, from The Goonies, it's the French training ship Belem (also Wiki'd)

Seemingly keeping an eye on the Belem, is the somewhat imposing Kroonborg

Here's the Belem covered in seamen

Uh, oh.  Someone didn't appreciate the joke.  I'm off!

oOo

In a vaguely related theme, here's some very early Sunday Music: "Fratelli Chase" from The Goonies, by Dave Grusin, and performed by the Film Symphony Orchestra

    1. I know! I almost had to avert my eyes.

      Almost...

  2. Oh how romantic! I am so sorry I didn't fill in the application form I had for the merchant navy. Although if I had I would probably be dead of AIDS by now...

And now I'm thinking of George Melly's "Rum,Bum and Concertina"

    1. I was completely unaware of George Melly and his Rum Bum and Concertina. And I think I'll leave it that way, as I can't imagine that the combination of those two sounds is a pleasant one!

  4. I hope they are not planting more of those ghastly wind turbines they're a blot on the seascape.

    1. I think Gulliver does have something to do with the wind turbines. Luckily, the ones off the coast here, are so far out as to be almost unnoticeable.
