Of Commas and Contrails

During a busy weekend, I managed to escape certain necessities for an hour and get some fresh air. Amongst all that air were these:

A lone buzzard circling over the scrub across the road from Castlette DeVice

A comma butterfly basking in the sun - Yes, we had warm sunshine yesterday with more due for the rest of this week!

The Vos Gorgeous (which is still hanging around off Cromer now)

The view along Overstrand beach from Cromer Lighthouse

Contrails...

... and clouds

I would write more but I can't be arsed! Maybe tomorrow? Or Wednesday...?

    1. Fingers crossed, Jon. It was very foggy here yesterday morning, but it burnt off quite quickly. This morning seems the same...

  3. Is that the elusive Oxford Comma (Polygonia c-album oxfordi) we hear so much about?

    1. Polygonia c-album, Polygonia interrogationis,(!!!) or Polygonia satyrus - who can say?

Actually, it's not the interrogationis as that's a question mark! C-album it is.

    2. Bah! I went to all the effort of making that second comma large and bold, but you can't tell.

  4. A lobe buzzard circling???? Coincidence that this was so close to your birthday??? Your not that old yet. Anywhore, It's about time you surfaced with such pretty pictures....I was thinking you must still be out cold from with what, all the birthday festivities.

    1. Yikes! I hadn't thought that it might be waiting for me to cark it so it could swoop down for a snack!

  5. That is one confident ship with a fantastic name like that! The butterfly looks vibrant. And the skies and beaches look splendid and spectacular. Well, at least it's one magnificent buzzard. It's when they circle overhead in a group that you should really begin worry.

  6. I misread Contrails as Cocktails.

Mind you, I'd like it to be mild enough here to sit outdoors under the contrails with cocktails.

    1. Oh, dear. We had a light sprinkling of rain yesterday evening (and a little early this morning by the look of it), but that's about it. I expect the clouds dump it all on the West Country and fizzle out before they make it this far east?

  9. I read the previous comments with trepidation and was so relieved. Here goes.
I woke up yesterday to find a semi colon butterfly on my Juliet balcony. Sadly as I was watching a syntax bird swooped and gobbled it up for being affected.
It's a hard life being named after punctuation, isn't it?

    1. I certainly wouldn't want to be a question mark or a silver Y, that's for sure!

Juliet Balcony? Wasn't she a police inspector in Hartley?

    2. But if there were a punctuation mark indicative of a queeny sneer, I'd be well up for it.
Nobody remembers that show, dear. At the time my attentions were fully occupied by my crushes on various members of the cast of Grange Hill!
