A reason to be a witch

After the excitement of all those pens, pencils and papers, there's nothing much to report here. The Host assisted Indescribable and Babyzilla to return from whence they came yesterday.
They were here camping, so Inexcuseable's husband helped them pack up and I kept Babyzilla amused and out of the way. I've also been doing some maintenance both here and at The Parents'.
And we've just got back from the woods behind Castlette DeVice in Northrepps. Here are some photos, to prove it (as always, click to enhance):

Yes, I constructed this pentagram and left the Earth point open to encourage growth and protection.

    1. They might indeed be magic, but perhaps not in the way your "friend" means...?

  3. That's seriously scary, all those triffids & green stuff with nary a pavement or street light to be seen. Your hedge really is remarkably different to mine, isn't it, although the buddleia is still just in flower...

    1. Ah, the buddleia: a link between the hedges. They'll grow anywhere, won't they? Cracks in walls and pavements, gutters and drainpipes, roof tops, neglected building sites, even one's garden!

    1. I got lucky with those wasps as they seemed pretty dopey. Although, as I leaned in to take the photo, I had a vision of falling onto the next and being stung to death!

  6. Lovely flowers, and I adore me some Queen Anne's Lace, but not sure about those shrunken heads on those stakes!?!?

    1. Ah, excuse the heads, Maddie. I didn't realise I'd got them in shot.

  7. LX, a friend told me magic mushrooms come out in the autumn. Not long for your friend to wait.

IDV, would you mind if I drew/painted one of your pix? They're rather lovely.
