Moooving... On a Sunday afternoon*
Well, it's the end of an era. After nearly ten and a half years in Castle DeVice, nee The Host's Home, we're (all four of us, plus Audrey) moving out. This weekend to be precise. Which is why we haven't been about on the blog circuit as much as we'd like lately - We've spent an inordinate amount of time sorting, packing, cleaning, recycling and chucking (out, not up) instead. Plus, there's been all that time spent at SP's. And now, all our time will be spent at SP's as that's where we're moving to!
To be honest, living in a gingerbread castle is not all it's cracked up to be. If it's not bugs and rodents trying to eat us out of house and home, it's pesky neighbourhood kids. Gingerbread isn't particularly waterproof either. Or structurally sound... It's lucky to have lasted this long, really.
Anyway, I shall miss it, despite the damp, the occasional fires, the different time zones, the uninvited guests and it's infernal inhabitants. I may even miss Beaky.
Ahhh... Good times. Sort of.
And now I shall take my leave. Not forever (ha!), just until I get settled in to my new home and work out how to reattach the Demon Box to the ether. Once we've decided where to put it. And I haven't dropped it during the move...
* Yes, I know today's Wednesday (the most evil of days) and not Sunday, but I'll be moving on Sunday and won't have the opportunity to post then.

Happy New Home!
ReplyDeleteLife will never be the same now. Won't it be fairly crowded, what with the four of you, SP and Audrey?
I hope his place is roomy.
"We've spent an inordinate amount of time sorting, packing, cleaning, recycling and chucking…"
ReplyDeleteI think there's a concealed message here. "Chucking" you say? Yeah right.
If you hadn't been "chucking" so much you'd probably have gotten all your packing done sooner. Filthy tyke.
I hate packing!
ReplyDeleteMy plan to start packing this weekend still stands but I am fairly sure it will done until the last minute.
What will happen to Castle Device?
Enjoy the new digs and the start of something wonderful! Packing is an opportunity to clear out the clutter and simplify your life. And to remind yourself not to collect or hold on to so much crap! At least that's what happens to me when I pack.
ReplyDeleteYes, Tim. He's "packing" all right.
ReplyDeleteIs there a broom closet for Broom?
And a parking space for Car?
Where will you put all your frocks and wigs?
And is there enough clearance space on his ceilings so you don't bump your head repeatedly as you move about the house?
I cant believe it ,our little boy (Well big gangly one) has found a man
ReplyDelete***wipes away tear***
I would make sure you have your feet firmly under the table before you reveal those freakishly bendable thumbs and the unfortunate tongue face
Beast: And his front bottom.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for the move! I do feel a bit sorry for Beaky though. Who will rescue him from the big missus?
ReplyDeleteIt’s Freakin’ Green Elf Shorts Caption Competition time again!
ReplyDeleteHead over to Denmark to visit CyberPete.
I can't wait for your object hunt around the new digs. I wonder what sort of close up photos you will take in your new abode?
ReplyDeleteHah! Wv: bumshm
ReplyDeleteYeah we need a Cribs viewing
I hope that your move was successful and not the least bit irritating and frustrating like moves can be sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYou should have a housewarming party!
We still don't really know anything about SP...aside from the fact that he's a sex pest.
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of bloke would go for IVD's type?
And more curiously, what sort of bloke would want sex from IVD? Aside from sailors on shore leave, of course.
MJ - One that's being held against his will?
ReplyDeleteI'd let him... Wait, did I say that out loud?
ReplyDeleteOh by the way, how long does it take to unpack? Or maybe SP has murdered our fair witch?
I hope not.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
ReplyDelete(there's an echo in here...)
Happy moving, dear! May your favourite CDs not be found 6 months later in the ironing cupboard.
ReplyDelete(P.S. I have only just cottoned onto the fact your constant ref's to being a smug married are about you being a smug maried and not dome obscure running gag I missed the start of. So congratulations about that.)
*slinks away*
Come on you lazy bitch, write something new.
