Empire Of The Sun - "Cherry Blossom"
Empire Of The Sun - "Music On The Radio"
Thank you Jon for the idea (and for the post title). And I've just realised that this could also do rather well as "I Think Today Should Be A Say Something Hat Day!"
Empire Of The Sun - "We Are The People"
With thanks to Ms Scarlet at Jon's (and Donn!).
Oh, go on then. Here's Gravitonas with "Lucky Star":
I love it! A sort-of-tribute [even if link #1 isn't working] - I'm humbled.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore Empire of the Sun, and anything Alexander Bard touches (Army of Lovers, Alcazar, BWO, Gravitonas) is simply faboo! Jx
PS That massively-bejewelled coat in video #2 is going on my bucket list for a future Pride "look"..!
DeleteThat coat is FABULOUS! It'd go nicely with my curtains, but as you've already nabbed it, I'll take the pink kimono and headress from video #1.
DeleteP.S. I've fixed the link now. I'd somehow linked to this very post by mistake!
I had to visit because Mistress Maddie told me I'm on the Freakin' Green Elf Shorts Map. My spot on the map is my Academy Award.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Ah, yes, your place on The Map is secured!
DeleteWe're just waiting for Rimpy to hold the next compo.
And welcome! Thanks for visiting.
Oh - the old We Are The People/Lucky Star combo!! I always have them on my playlist together, and I always think of you, Jon, and Donn when I hear them!!
ReplyDeleteSx
Yes, I can't listen to one without the other either. And you, Jon, and Donn always pop into my mind, too!
DeleteI had to goggle both groups as neither meant anything to me (gravatonas vid not available)!I did find that Empire of the Sun is going to play here on November at the Hollywood Bowl! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOoh, the Hollywood Bowl is big, isn't it? Is it the same as the Superbowl or is that something different? Anyway, EotS are sure to put on a SPECTACULAR show!
DeleteI love high fantasy music videos and the music is nice. I've never heard of the band Empire of the Sun. I had to look them up because there are very clearly strong Asian influences in these videos.
ReplyDeleteFunny that the band is from Australia, but we have plenty of Indophiles and Japanophiles here too. I'm quite obsessed with both countries myself, such rich vibrant cultures! I love cuisine from both. I'm particularly enamored with Japanese architecture and philosophy, but India's use of color in textiles and art is amazing!
DeleteI find South and East Asian culture and art rather fascinating, too. EotS have been influenced by and taken inspiration from many cultures around the world, and never fail to amaze!
DeleteEmpire of the Sun remind me a lot of Jamiroquai meets the PSB. The certainly have their brand. Music on the Radio is great... they have had a number of great songs... but they get no airplay in the states. Thanks for sharing. BTW - I bought their first single!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! I see the Jamiroquai look particularly in the "Music on the Radio" video! Perhaps they'll get some airplay leading up to and after the Hollywood Bowl (as Savvy mentioned)?
