Lifeboats and Chalk Rafts

While chatting with Dinahmow (and later seeing her new header image), I remembered that I'd taken some photos down on the beach last weekend.  So, as I don't have anything else planned, here they are - the first photos from 2019's first proper beach walk (or "drift").
Despite the clear skies, it's about 25° cooler here than Dinah's neck of the woods...

The End-of-the-Line...

... goes on a bit, doesn't it?

Beyond the End-of-the-Line

G-YAKF a long way from home
From tomorrow morning, I'll be away for a few days oop North, so I won't be around to reply to any comments or visit your blogs.
So.  Business as usual, then!
 Oh, quiet, you.

    1. Not as far North as I thought (but much farther than Pembrokeshire) - see the next post for clarification.

  2. how very considerate of "them" to build a sort of boardwalk to lure you past the End of the Line.

    1. Isn't it just. I always make sure to use it when the beach isn't covering it up, too.

  3. Stay safe if you are travelling, Mr Devine, the weather is dire today! No blue skies - but thank you for reminding me what they look like.
    Are you visiting Mitzi?

    1. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for Mitzi) I didn't get far enough North to pay a visit. At least, I don't think I did, as my sense of direction, I've just discovered, is worse than I thought!

  5. The RUSSIANS !! The airoplane fits, as in some parts of the UK WWII has seemingly still not ended ...
I surely did not know that there is something beyond the "end of the line". "Hic sunt dracones" ?

  7. And now, May 14, my weather is showery and unlikely to creep above 15 Celsius.
Also, I've just been reading about some boffins making a model of Doggerland, before it sank in the sea of what's now the Wash.I wonder how much might have been your coastline.
You need a large G and T now, don't you?

    1. Where you have showers, we have sunshine - but no higher temperatures (although, I gather inland is warming up a bit).
I am mildly curious about Doggerland - I've been doing a little reading about prehistoric Britain, and it seems I'd have quite the walk to get to the beach...
