In lieu of a Christmas post (I don't know why I'm worrying, as I haven't done one in years), for anyone who's interested (and lucky enough to have a few minutes of spare time this close to Christmas), here's a look back on the seasonal goings on here ten years ago:
Unless some of you were lurkers back then (or have scoured my dusty crypts), I think it will only be The Very Mistress and ErosWings who remember the above tales from over the Cusp.
One day soon - time willing - I will drag you all over the Cusp for an adventure or two, like we used to have. I mean, it's been nearly three and a half years since our last foray:
I tell a lie, it's been nearly three years, as we endured that James Bond related nincompoopery back in early 2015, didn't we:
Arrrgh!!! I've got glitter in my eyes!!! (via) |
Do you have a favourite seasonal post of your own? Or just a favourite themed post - one you're proud of or pleased with?
Have a Wonderful Winterval one and all,
and see you before the New Year at the Coven Awards!
and see you before the New Year at the Coven Awards!
I look back fondly on this, this, and who could forget (or forgive) this? Have a great Yule! Jx
ReplyDeleteWell, the educational slant of the first two go some way to make up for Crossroads!
DeleteSWEET MARY SUNSHINE! wow, sweetpea, but those were captivating!! I laughed, I cried, what a wonderful night at the theater! I mean, great reading! xxoxo
ReplyDeleteHeh! Thanks, Savvy. Remember to take your programme and opera glasses home with you.
DeleteOne of the true joys of the season is to enjoy these timeless classics again! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that MJ does her traditional dramatic reading of The Night Before Christmas enacted with finger puppets tomorrow night!
My favorite seasonal posts involve passing along my recipe for Traditional Cranberries!
Your cranberry sauce recipe is a classic itself, now!
DeleteI just hope The Very Mistress remembers to wash her hands this time...
Wow. It's like Savannah said, great reading (and a nice stroll down memory lane). Reading these past posts made me smile and think of those who used to hang out here and what fun that was. I only know for certain what happened to a few. The ones still here, I'm grateful for. The others who're not, I hope that all is well with them or they are at peace in a better place. And I'm grateful for the time they spent among us.
ReplyDeleteJon, I also enjoyed your linked posts. Sorry I can't seem to reply on your site, so here at IDV's, I can say that I like what you wrote on the three linked posts. Thanks for the great info and entertainment.
I like so many Holiday posts from all over. But if I had to pick one of my own, it would be Hope is a yellow dump truck, my first Holiday post, the one where I just let myself write freely and honestly. I didn't know it then, but it was the beginning of my tendency to lose myself and write novellas about my life experiences and how they changed me and marked my soul. My apologies to the readers for the long posts, but once I start, I just can't stop til I've gotten everything out. I'm just wired and weird that way. That being said, IDV, I like reading your baking posts and seeing your splendid creations--and who got to devour your delicious masterpieces. They may not be Holiday specific, but they are festive and delightful!
Feliz navidad prospero año y felicidad!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh, I remember your yellow dump truck post! A wonderful, heart-warming tale, and with comments from a lot of those bloggers who we used to hang out with.
DeleteP.S. I like reading your long posts as I always feel like I've read a book.
Oh I do remember well the James Bond parody.....i love how you can take us all into a story. Not sure about a favorite post, but most seem to enjoy my seasonal post on balls or underwear.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you dear!!!!
Your balls and underwear posts certainly are seasonal: I've seen them in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter!
DeleteI looove the names of the dwarfs and what they mine!
ReplyDeleteHappy Winterval!
Ah, yes. The Piggy dwarfs. Each one represents a facet of his personality (mayherestinpeace). We had fun over the Cusp with that particular adventure!
DeleteI can't think of a fave post at the moment as I'm still seething from one of your old posts that called me a "strident female Canuck." Although to be fair, I've been called worse, and it seems I called you a "turd burglar."
ReplyDeleteFestive joy to you, Mr. DeVice and thank you for all your posts.
I'm sure Piggy must have goaded me into calling you that...
Delete*ahem*
I'm not adverse to a bit of light gold fingering.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas!
Then perhaps you'd like to try out my fing-longer?
DeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you, LẌ!
DeleteNo. Not at all.
ReplyDeleteFrohe Weihnachten IDV.
Ah, you like them all equally! I suppose its a bit like asking apparent which one is their favourite child?
DeleteBah humbug darling!
