Four Photos: On My Way To Work I Saw...

Sunrise from Aylsham (I stopped Car and got out to look at the sunrise - this was just before 6am last Wednesday)

If you look very carefully, atop the pointy bit on the roof of the Norwich University of the Arts (I used to go here back when it was known as the Norfolk Institute of Art and Design) you'll spy a cormorant!

These phone boxes outside St. Andrew's church have featured here before.

Behind this spreading cherry tree are some ramparts of Norwich Castle.

    1. Thank you, Janie! However, what the photos don't show is the chill wind. Fortunately, it turned balmy just in time for the weekend.

    1. Blue skies and cherry blossom are always a winning combination!

  3. All glorious pictures Mr Device!! I often wondered if the red painted metal phone booths were still in use in England. I love seeing them. Over on this side of the pond pay phones are very hard to find.

    1. The traditional red phone boxes are few and far between now, Mistress Maddie. And working ones even rarer. These two are little more than glorified notice boards - and emergency toilets!
However, there is a working box in my home village.

  4. Lovely! Though before 6am is a mystery to me - unless I haven't been to bed yet... Jx

    1. I did think of you as I was posting this. Now you know what a sunrise looks like without the beer goggles!

  5. Gorgeous photos, sweetpea! There is something about early morning commutes, not that mine requires a car these days, but seeing the sunrise through the blinds of the front room/lounge is stunning! Then, of course, I can go back to bed. xoxo

  6. I miss England....
But blogger-buddies always cheer me. In a while, when the sun has touched the oaks, I'll see if my camera can capture their glory...

  7. Lovely pictures. The last time I used a phone box was to ring up Esther Rantzen's childline to report my parents for mental cruelty, because on my 10th birthday, they bought me a punching ball and boxing gloves. Can you imagine that?

    1. The horror! I hope Esther Rantzen herself showed up to give them what for.

Indeed, some smashing pictures, Mr Devine, thank you.
Meanwhile, I apologise for being so late!

    1. A pigeon?!? I would threaten you with the close-up photo I took, but with its head tucked under a wing, it's difficult to tell what it is. However, it is, indeed, a cormorant. Indeed!
      Apology grudgingly accepted.

  9. Just in case anyone has clicked the 'Notify me' thingy and is waiting for their blog reader to notify them a new post has been published, it has! In Jon's (and Maddie's and Mago's) absence, daily posts are happening here now. Now!
