    1. It certainly has been a rather miserable year so far, weather wise. I'm sorry that you are getting even MORE rain, Ms Scarlet. Is there anything left in Devon, or has it all been washed away?

    2. Well, Cornwall are still clearing up after the last named storm, and some of Devon/Dorset has fallen into the sea. Also, the roads are all crumbling away and they can't be repaired properly because it won't stop raining. Truly horrible here.

    3. Against my better judgment, I looked at the BBC news this morning - I tried to stay away from all the political stuff which pretty much only left the weather and climate horrors. I saw that some of the Jurassic Coast is collapsing, and the rail line through Dawlish was closed again due to storm damage :(

  2. Pissing-down here in London, too - there may be some sleet involved, but thankfully no snow... Jx

    1. We were only supposed to get a bit of sleet, but I see there's a yellow warning for snow across the east of England now. It's supposed to warm up and clear away later this afternoon, but we'll see...

  3. Better than this aweful greyness, like a deadly blanket : Grey sky, grey earth, grey fields, grey all.

    1. You have a point, Mr Mago. At least a flurry of snow brings a level of excitement and/or dread.

  4. It's barely light here, but no sign of the heavy thunderstorms they warned us would hit two days ago...
    Fingers crossed for you all.

    1. I hope those storms passed you by and didn't double back to surprise you?
For once, the weather forecast was correct herer - the snow did indeed disappear by tea time!

  5. It was sunny yesterday in Weymouth they had a dinosaur race on the beach, this morning driving to Bridport through a pea souper was scary, my maid crossed herself when she looked at the sat nav screen and saw how close we were to the sea, begging me to slow down, it cleared a bit and it turned out we were a long way off from the the sea, the hysterical toilet.

    1. It sounds like Carmen has been watching too many episodes of Wacky Races and The Perils of Penelope Pitstop and imagined your car teetering along the edge of the cliff!

  6. It has been grim but the first day of Spring is only 2 weeks away (meteorological).
We have to wait another 5 weeks for the vernal equinox, 20 March for true Spring to start.
    Hey Ho.
Your first photo would make a fab personalised Christmas card.

    2. Well, since I've been absent, Meteorological Spring has sprung - and unlike last year (or was it the year before?) the daffs here beat spring to it! They started flowering at the end of Feb.

Prepare yourselves to receive such a card next year! Unless I forget, of course (which is highly likely...).

  7. It's a winter wonderland! Go out and make a snow angel for us!

    1. Very Mistress!! (Un)fortunately, it was too warm(!) for the snow to properly settle (I think it was about 3 or 4 degrees), so we had a layer of slush topped with a very thin coating of snow that disintegrated with the slightest touch. At best, I could possibly have managed a slush morlock.

  8. Massively late commenting, sweetpea, but today is the first of March here in Lalaland and it's currently 84F and sunny! I agree that your street photo would make a lovely holiday card. xoxo

    1. Meteorological Spring! And almost 29°C (I had to look up what Farenheit was in Celsius so I could understand whether it was hot or cold!). Blimey!

  9. I read somewhere that they were making a UK film version on Ghosts.

    1. Ooh, really? That'll be amazing! I hope, anyway. The cast's (Them There) take on Shakespeare (Bill) is very good and a lot of fun, so I have high hopes for Ghosts: The Possession of Button House*

      * I've just seen on Wikipedia that filming starts this month!
