Minus cooking a quivering slab of meat, this has been my weekend. Well, my Sunday afternoon, at least. Bah!
(It took me a little while to find this ad as I thought Geoffrey Palmer said "I love children. But I couldn't eat a whole one." Still, his face at the end says it all.)
He always cracks me up. Love him in As Time Goes By.
ReplyDeleteOh! Perhaps it's in As Time Goes By that he says "I love children. But I couldn't eat a whole one."?
DeleteSpecialty of the House, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteI wonder which wine should accompany the dish?
DeleteThe master of the "grim grin."
ReplyDeleteUnsurpassed!
DeleteOh, he was a magnificently wry actor! I adored him - in The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, Butterflies, (the aforementioned, by Maddie) As Time Goes By and as the perfectly droll narrator of Grumpy Old Men!
ReplyDeleteThat's a "tut" without even "tutting" 😊. Jx
I vaguely remember him in Reggie Perrin and Butterflies (definitely do in As Time Goes By, of course), but haven't seen Grumpy Old Men. He was brilliant as Doctor Price in Fawlty Towers, too!
DeleteI’ve lost the first paragraph of your post.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, put your feet up now And do as those laundry tab adverts instruct you: keep away from children.
Love Geoffrey Palmer, ever since Butterflies.
Sx
The entirety of the post could barely be called a paragraph, Ms Scarlet. If you can see the "quivering slab of meat" bit, that's it, so don't go looking down the back of your sofa for any extra words.
DeleteSlam In The Lamb has got to be a euphemism. Please.
ReplyDeleteBut of course!
DeleteWhen I cook and eat children, my cholesterol numbers always go up.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Tell me about it. There are only so many vegetables one can eat to even things out, Janie.
DeleteFeed us Mr Device, feed us!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there are enough rolls in the world to mop up that lot!
