Bluer Decks

Star Trek fan art time!  But don't worry - I'll make it quick.

August's Star Trek fan art challenge theme was "Toon Trek":
Take some inspiration from your favorite non-Trek cartoon or comic and draw Trek scenes in the same manner. How about Looney Tunes, Arthur, Calvin and Hobbes, Garfield, etc? Alternately, show us your own unique drawing style.
Initially I was thrilled because I thought it would be a chance to finish the Ulysses 31 / Lower Decks poster I started last year, but real life got in the way so I had to reduce the scope of my plans.  I didn't think I was going to have time to do anything, but at the very last minute I came up with this Bluey / LDS mash-up:  Bluer Decks

From left to right: Bandit Heeler/Sam Rutherford, Bluey Heeler/Beckett Mariner, Bingo Heeler/Brad Boimler, and Chilli Heeler/D'Vana Tendi.

The final season of Star Trek: Lower Decks is out on Paramount+ 24th October! Yeah, I know I've already featured this teaser trailer before, but you can never have too much Lower Decks!

And more of Bluey season three is finally out on BBC iPlayer!  Although not these two, yet: "Granny Mobile" and "Dragon".

Just in case anyone doesn't like Star Trek: Lower Decks or Bluey - which, quite frankly, is inconceivable - here's the latest offering from Empire of the Sun: "Happy Like You" (the video of which could do with more of Luke Steele dressed to the nines.  And tens, and especially elevens!)

    1. Ah, I hope you like it, dear Savvy. And even if you don't, at least you've found a Star Trek that you do like.

    1. I must admit, I've not seen much of Sir Pat in real life things (interviews and the like), but he has been amazing in pretty much everything I've seen him in. The latest was in a rewatch of Jeffery - his Sterling is FABULOUS!

  9. Making the kids red shirts makes sense due to their lack of technical experience of course and what not, but as you know I'm lamenting dark school walks and bears, and this image made me think of that silly creature known as the Dik Dik that will literally 'yeet' it's baby at a predator so it can live to procreate another day. Talk about an expendable red shirt! (Too dark? I'm sorry, so sorry, my humor can be a bit dark and salty sometimes.)

    1. Oh, I never thought about the red shirt thing! Fortunately, in the TNG era (in which Lower Decks is set), it's the gold shirts who are more likely to meet an unceremonious end.
And no need to apologise for your humour - I laughed!

  10. Just checking in to see if there were any new photos of Beaky or Bitey. Not Bluey. Harumph.

    1. Beaky's away for the summer, but he'll be back soon. Which reminds me, I'd better stock up on sultanas.
And I'm sure Bitey will pop up in the next batch of garden photos as he's always photobombing when I take them!
