Eeek! It's been a week since my last post, so to stave off the non-blogging inertia, here are a load of photos that I've taken so far this month. Oh, and some new Kylie to listen to as you wade through them:

I've also got some photos from today's jaunt down to the beach, but I'll save them for another day as I can't decide which ones to publish. Plus, I want to plump myself down in front of another episode of Jessica Jones (or two) with a G&T (or two) before bed.

ReplyDeleteEven weedy and unkempt is a lot of upkeep. There's no way I could manage a regimented, spick-n-span, weedless allotment like some of the old farts here do. All my weeds are a "deliberate" helping hand to Mother Nature.
DeleteAnd Bitey is half Parsons terrier, with the other half made up of Border, Jack Russell, and Lakeland.
I just googled Parsons Terrier and I see it's a Jack Russell variant.Or type, or whatever breeders call them! I bet your sister's kids love him! Lively little buggers. The dogs, I mean!
DeleteLLB, indeed! I came back from walking Bitey earlier, and found the house full of nieces and nephew. Poor Bitey's exhausted now.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Savvy! Jessica Jones surprised me as well. I don't usually like such dark and gritty shows, but Krysten Ritter is just amazing! I also love her as The Bitch in Apartment 23, and wish that the two would meet!

Bitey is remarkably good at not dashing off somewhere when I want to take his photo. He's quite the little diva!
DeleteThere's a lovely pink hawthorn just across the road - I'll see if I can get a photo of it for next time. And I can't wait for the GPE to ogle your Big Pink Bush again! (Or even before, if you feel like showing off?)
Bitey is a good name for a Hound. I used to call my old boss's dog Bumfluff. How was I supposed to know she'd be offended.

ReplyDeleteWell, despite being cast iron, and very stable, sometimes after I've had a few, the chairs can sway rather, and almost tip me out! I think it's a reaction between the quinine fumes and the iron...

DeleteI'm not sure that the gooseberries will come to anything - the bush has since got a bit dry (and I neglected to feed & mulch it earlier in the year) and quite a few of the already few berries have fallen off. Maybe next year?

ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with gooseberries? The last thing one of my great uncles wanted was the taste of a gooseberry pie again before he died. Unfortunately, he passed before the winter ended and I couldn't find any frozen anywhere. (They are not popular here and the native variety was nearly decimated because it somehow contributed to carrying a pathogen that threatened the white pine timber industry. I did eventually find, make, and eat a gooseberry pie in his honor. Now I think of him every time I see them.
What's wrong with horrible globules of sour snot, you ask? Well...
DeleteActually, it's not the gooseberries, it's me - It's a feel and texture thing. Still, they do seem very popular around here, what with you (and your great uncle, mayherestinpeace), Mitzi, and The Mother (she loves them, too).
