What would you name your beach hut, that is?
The following are some beach huts of note from Overstrand promenade. They're not all named, but either the name or the design of each of these caught my eye.
One for Mistress Maddie (as teased in the last post) |
I like the stripes on this one - just the right side of kitsch |
Note the wave-effect faschia board |
I'm not a fan of the name (I'm not a Rolling Stones fan), but I do like the white triangle panels that make a square |
The forward angled side panels gives this a 50s vibe (to my eyes, anyway) |
"On the huh" (this is said in Norfolk as well as Suffolk) |
"The Ritz" and "Claridges" |
D'oh! I forgot to take a panoramic shot, so I had to stick two photos together |
So, what would you call your beach hut? And, at which beach would it be?
"Blue Moon"
ReplyDeleteThe waters are cold around there, right?
Did I win yet?
Ha! Yes. Yes you did win!
DeleteWell,I thought "Ruby Tuesday" was where friends got together on Tuesdays with a bottle of ruby port.See? I'm also not au fait with Stones hits.
ReplyDeleteBut they all look like fun.Are you going to get one?
I did briefly entertain the idea of getting a beach hut with The Parents and my sisters, but we realised that we wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost (what with the Château only being at the top of the cliff). Not to mention the hassle of moving it during the winter as, if left in situ, it would surely be smashed to smithereens during a storm surge.
DeleteTear down that bitch of a bearing wall & put a window where it ought to be!
ReplyDelete"Faye's Getaway"
Quite right!
DeleteI think they're all adorable. Are they for changing into bathing frocks and then for some place to have a drink afterwards? Perhaps lure a likely candidate for unspeakable actions?
ReplyDeleteWell, yes, but most of the candidates around here are more on the unlikely side...
DeleteBoy, I wish we had these on our beaches more often. They are all lovely. I do think the Gin Trap is pretty me, but since it's taken, I think Love Shack, or the Shimy Shack would work as well.
ReplyDelete"When the shack is a rockin', don't come a knockin'" Unless, of course, one happens to be one of Mr Peenee's "likely candidates"!
DeleteMine would be called Abbasi and would be in Iran.

The lack of room service would put me off a beach hut.
Ah, but there's just enough room to be serviced in a beach hut. I fear your servicer may get lost in the Abbasi...
DeleteThe Shaggin' Shack.
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be at the end of the row next to Mistress Maddie's. I couldn't be listening to all those creaking boards!
DeleteI want the blue and green stripy one! I would call it Cockles.

And when you feel peckish, there are plenty of mussels on the groynes!
