Who is the Muddy, Solanum Sallet-eating Cowbag?

Surely these two aren't responsible?
I've been having a look through the stats for this blog over the last few months - as is my wont - and have discovered three posts that have garnered an awful lot more page views than others published around the same time, and also older posts, too.

The three posts in question are: Mud, Solanum Sallet, and Cowbag, all from earlier this year. Surprisingly, both Mud and Solanum Sallet don't have page breaks/jumps, so the whole post can be read without having to click on it to see the rest of the content (like Cowbag). The following screen shots were all taken around midday today. As always, click to embigulate!

As you can see, Solanum Sallet, Mud, and Cowbag, are trouncing the other posts in the page views department

For comparison purposes, these are the posts and stats from the same time in 2010 (I presume the Bizarrotron post garnered so many page views because of the Calvin & Hobbes content)...

... in 2013 (the top two posts' stats are easily explained as Star Trek and bulges are always popular)...

... and 2014 (See?! Star Trek is popular, hence the high page views for the Ships of the Line calendar post. Tin foil hats are also popular, it seems)...

They constantly show up in the Weekly and Monthly stats - sometimes the Daily stats, too. And, yes, I realise that by linking to them now, I'm probably going to skew future stats, but I don't really care that much.

Mud, Solanum Sallet, and Cowbag are second only to Tin Foil Hats in the Monthly stats.

They're pretty popular in this week's stats, too.

Sadly, Cowbag doesn't make it into the figures from the last 24 hours.

Oh, and for some reason, there are no results for the Search Keywords, except when I select the All Time category, so I can't tell if there's a particular word or phrase in these posts that people are searching for.

Here are the All Time pageviews, just in case you're interested. It says All Time, but I believe these pageviews are from May 2010 - There's a related post here.

Why are they so popular? And who is looking at these posts?

 Reveal yourself/yourselves!

Have any of you got any strange or unusual blog stats? What are your most popular posts?

  1. Oh seriously, the solanum sallet post is attractive to those who think it will teach them the esoteric ways of witchery, & the other two to those who like, erm, cars & men. Damnit, that made sense to me when I started. Actually, your Cowbag post was familiar to me, I think the title might attract.

    1. Oh, dear. So it seems like I'm luring people here under false pretenses.

      Ah, well...

  2. Impressive stats! All of mine have very modest viewing numbers. This one has 1017 views, far and away the most.

As far as stats go, does size matter? [worries]

    1. Dear Lx, its not the size of the wand, but the magic in it.

    2. Quite right, Mistress Maddie.

In fact, LX, I like that post so much that I'm going to appropriate it for here!

  3. Dear God! My neighbour has had blue fairy lights flashing since melbourne-sodding-cup and the other neighbours have just gone to work(4am) and left their garage lights on...I cannot even consider stats.
Actually, it never occurs to me to look at mine.Do I have them? I suppose so...

    1. It sounds like your neighbours should be considering the stats on their electricity bills.

  4. I have mused about Blogger stats in various conversations on various blogs over the years - but the one that has had far and above the most hits (currently 38,500 and counting!) of anything I posted since transferring my MySpace blog to this site in 2010 is one about the death of Barry Evans of Mind Your Language fame. Who knew that an obscure and cringeworthy ITV series from the late 70s/early 80s would prove to have been such a mega-hit across the world? Jx

    1. I find Blogger stats alternately fascinating and distracting - it's amazing what strangely specific things people search for.
I've never heard of Barry Evans (not that one, anyway), but he obviously struck a chord with many people worldwide judging by your remarkable hit count.

  5. I find in very strange what comes up in stats. My top 3 post are Sensual Sexiness, Grande Dame Alyssa Edwards, Some Scary Pumpkins. But the top three key search words are Adam Roderges shower, mistress bare cock, Alyssa Edwards. And USA and united Kingdom are only 40 hits apart as my 1 and 2 countries reading, followed by Brazil.

    1. Speaking of search terms - among mine this month are "blogger simon webbe fake penis pics" and, remarkably "annette crosbie porn"! Jx

    2. Oh, I'd forgotten about which countries are viewing, Mistress Maddie. The USA far outstrips the UK in terms of hits for my blog - something like three times as many. Germany & France are third and fourth respectively, with about a third as many hits as from the UK.

And, Jon? It's no wonder Victor Meldrew had perfected his "I don't believe it!" if that's what Margaret was getting up to!
