Sunday Ketchup - IDV's Copy/Paste Edition

I've realised that I'm in danger of never blogging ever again unless I do something NOW!  So, taking a leaf out of Ms Scarlet's book - almost literally, and with her permission (kind of) - here's my quick-and-dirty, copy-and-paste Sunday Ketchup.

From Ms Scarlet's 5th December Sunday Ketchup post:

"Sunday Ketchup. It will be a random account of my week and will include quotes from my journal [my very secret journal that I show no-one ever!]; photographs; collages; calligraphy; and, of course, the obligatory piece of Sunday music. How thrilled you must be to read of my good intentions. Again. Let us proceed…"

My week - nay, my weeks - since my last post have been spent continuing the dither that engulfed me at the start of the year.  It's got to the point where I've become a passive observer rather than an active participant, which means I've barely done anything of note at all.

I haven't produced any calligraphy of course, but I did spend 10-15 minutes making a £999,960 Bank of Bungle bank note for my sister Indescribable's birthday earlier in the week.  She wanted a million pounds so I topped up the £40 John Lewis voucher I got for her with this:

Spot the mistake (which I corrected after I took this photo)...

In my very secret journal I wrote: A rescue - from [a spiral in(g) time] - a survivor, Galuth Nym, an old woman who should be young.

From my emails I wrote: Thanks very much for sorting Car out. Again. I’m sure it won’t be the last time – unless I get a new car sooner rather than later...

 Photograph of the week:

Taken for an art project that never took off...

A tune that I discovered yesterday and have listened to rather a lot: "Impossible" by Röyksopp & Alison Goldfrapp

In fact, I'm listening to it now...

Right.  I'd best be off as there's loads to do before I can lounge about in the bath for a couple of hours this evening.  Plus, I need to do the catch up with all of you that I didn't do last time.

P.S. I love all your comments in the last post.  Carry on!

EDIT 20:40 - P.P.S. For a birthday I usually forget... (not mine, although I did shoot this on my birthday 12 years ago)

  2. Maddie is right, but lovely to see a post from you!
Did your sister feel short changed?
I am very impressed that my method of posting is now helping others write quick and dirty blog posts - and I look forward to reading more from your very secret journal (makes note to up my game in the journaling stakes).
And the rendition of Bungle is superb!
    Sx

    1. I have to confess: my 'secret journal' is really my 'ideas' notebook - and it has been quite bereft of them so far this year...

P.S. Yes, it's amazing how ninehundred thousand pounds can split a family asunder. She came around after I'd felt-tipped in the other nine...

P.P.S. I was rather pleased with Bungle myself. Amazed that he came out recognisable with only a few seconds sketch.

    1. Thank you, Mr Tonking!
I got extremely excited when that song popped up in my YT recommendations, and was only very slightly disappointed that it wasn't a pure Goldfrapp number. Still, I love Röyksopp too, so it's all good.

  4. I am Galuth Nyn! I'm only masquerading as Dinahmow cos I'm afraid if I show myself I'll frighten small children and horses.
Rescuers should form an orderly queue or a Black Friday ,mob, whichever seems appropriate.
Ooh! Reno Man has just moved his nifty equipment so I can nip out to the kitchen and brew coffee...

    1. If you go backwards through the spiral in time, perhaps you'll end up young again? Once you've had your coffee, see if Reno Man can install a time spiral somewhere in your house.

  5. Be assured IDV, the year is started best with doing nothing, or as less as possible. STress will find us soon enough. Glad that you posted, one started to become a bit worried after all.
I do not want to be a nitpick, but it seems to me that on the banknote a "nine" is missing on the right side ? She wants a million, not just hundred thousand - ?
From this perspective he scissors looks like wale or a submarine.
Sadly I have no damn secret notebook or diary, just ballooning emptyness in my head. WHat in itself is a very interesting experience.

    1. Yes, it was a nine that got away. Still, I managed to capture it and increase the value of the bank note in the end.

You are not far off in your whale/submarine guess. The scissors were to be turned into a spaceship resembling a humpback whale! Which may still happen at some point...

I'm sure an empty head means it is easier for one to keep an open mind?

  6. Wank of Bingle or are you trying to diddle her out of 900000?

    1. I tried to keep the £900K, but she noticed, so I won't be moving into a new house any time soon, Mitzi.

  7. No, wait. I thought the whole point of blogging was throwing whatever is foremost in your mind at the screen and calling it a post?
You mean people prepare these things? I have to agree that inertia is the way ahead.
    Poor doggy.

Ah, yes, poor Moomin. She did get in eventually, but sans stick.

  8. I have been deep in my dirty journal, but I'm afraid it's got to do more with actual dirt then anything fun and naughty.

I'm just happy to see something from you! It's the only way I can be certain your still alive!

  9. I'm so sorry!!!! I didn't mean to crash your sideboard again!!!!! Someone really wanted a reblog for a project they are working on and I obliged. I did not know it came with a "Featured Image" that's what blows up on your sideboard. I tried to remove it, but because its a reblog, I don't know if it will work. Wordpress was already getting squirrely with my comments landing on the wrong blogs. Who slapped me with the chaos stick all of a sudden? Sheesh!

    1. During periods of lock-down, a blown-up sideboard can be the highlight of the week.

    2. Occasionally yes, but all things in moderation I say. I wouldn't want to wear out my welcome. It looks as though I was able to successfully remove the featured image from my reblog. I doubt the young ladies would have wanted anyone looking at the image at 300x magnification as if we were looking for skin imperfections.
