I think this must be taken from near the cliff edge as that rise behind the pavilion (with the path going up it on the right) looks like it coudl be Toll's Hill. Unless this was taken from Paul's Lane which would mean that rise was the cliffs (which have since fallen into the sea).
I remembered to take Camera with me on this morning's Bitey walk into the village. I did this with one thing in mind: to take a photo of the "visitors' guide to Overstrand, past and present" map because it answers some questions that dear Mago asked last month. I have still to look through the history books downstairs for more info, but I've made a start at least.

It's taken me a week to get over the Ten Day Blogging Challenge thingy but before I move on to business as usual, I have a couple of things to say and a couple of loose ends to tie up.
Firstly, the 10DBC has given me new found respect for the likes of Jon (who was the unwitting inspiration behind the challenge), Mistress Maddie, and Mr Tonking who can often be found teetering at the top of my Sideboard thanks to their daily blog posts. Their commitment to blogging and, therefore, entertaining us each day, cannot be underestimated - they are an inspiration!
1. I do NOT work in Warhammer. Although, I think The Very Mistress might have posed for one or two of these little sculptures unless I'm very much mistaken?
Apologies for the poor image clarity. I couldn't get any photos without loads of reflections and this is the clearest I could make them after messing around with the contrast and shadows etc.

Ms Scarlet is doing an astonishing job of publishing daily blog posts while Jon's on holiday - really astonishing, considering. This, like last week's publication, is just another mish-mash post because I don't have anything specific to relay. My niece, Lionel (not her real name) scrawled the always amusing epithet above on our garage wall some months ago, yet it is only now that I have got around to taking a photo of it to share here. I'd actually only gone outside in the rain to take a photo of 'Eva Boerg' swinging away under a bird box, when I realised I could kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

I finished The Bullet That Missed (see last post) and definitely have a crush on Bogdan. The last page of chapter 84 cinched the deal - I just wanted to give him a big hug. And then he'd reciprocate with those big, muscular, tattooed arms. Ahhhhh...
Anyway, enough about Bogdan (even though I don't think there can ever be too much Bogdan). I have started a re-read of Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman (last re-reads here in 2013 and here in 2008).
I've wanted to read this collection of short stories again for quite a few years, but had been thwarted by not having the book. You see, I'd lent it to my sister, Indescribable (Lionel's mum), a long, long time ago, but every time I'd asked for it back she claimed to have already returned it because it definitely wasn't in her house anywhere. Definitely.
Except until it was (she found it behind some other books in her unruly bookcase a couple of months ago and sheepishly gave it back to me).

Star Trek! I am EXTREMELY excited for the forthcoming episode of Strange New Worlds because it's a crossover with my favourite Trek show, the animated Lower Decks, and features a live action Boimler (in the clip below) and Mariner (both played by their respective voice actors, Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome).
Unfortunately, I won't be watching it when it airs on Thursday because I don't have Paramount+, so I'll have to make do with clips and screencaps until it comes out on BluRay (or I can get a free trial of P+ or something). Bah!

After the weekend's snowy disappointment, I thought I'd do a happy post to make up for it. So, without further ado, these are some of my (current) favourite things:

I found this sitcom on Netflix on Sunday. Or, rather, Netflix displayed it prominently on the home page and I got suckered in by it. I watched the little preview (with the sound off - always with the sound off) and thought I saw Ugly Betty. I kept watching and, yes, there was America Ferrera along with a very attractive Pretty Boy (Ben Feldman), so of course I was going to watch it. Well, a few minutes of the first episode, anyway...
It was joyful! I couldn't stop at the first episode, and now I'm halfway through season 2! I hadn't realised how much I really needed something light-hearted and entertaining to lift me out of the lockdown doldrums. I urge any of you who may be feeling a little (or a lot) glum to find something fun to watch or do (I have also watched a couple of French & Saunders episodes, and 13 Going on 30 starring the delightful Jennifer Garner and adorably handsome Mark Ruffalo).

Well. What a selection of guesses as to the previous post's Item of Interest! My fancy hasn't been tickled like that in quite some time, let me tell you. One of you managed to correctly identify the item in question, but before I reveal who it was, I'd like to share my favourite fancy ticklers. So, in no particular order, the preposterous runners up are:
Mr Peenee with "I keep thinking it has something to do with the Statue of Liberty,
probably because of the color, but it seems unlikely the S of L has
taken up refuge in the Castelette. Although in a world where Donald
Trump runs the American government, sort of, I guess "unlikely" is a
shaky concept." Shaky, indeed, Peenee. Especially as I discovered Lady Liberty trying to get in the catflap the other day when I got home from work. Needless to say, she was a little on the large side to squeeze through, so I shooed her out to the pond where she stands in place of one of the solar-powered garden lights (that don't work because of the lack of sunlight Britain enjoys). Turns out she just wanted a little holiday from all the "goings on" across the Pond... She won't keep still, though, and all her tramping around has turned the garden into a mud bath! On the plus side, she does stand in for Cromer lighthouse when the bulb needs changing.
Jon, with: "You've managed to get a courgette? During this crisis?" Yuck! No! Although I did buy an iceberg lettuce for the outrageous price of £1.40 the other day!
Hound, with: "A corner of a cover you have made for one of the alien plants in the greenhouse?" I'm disappointed in you, Hound, as it was you (or your comment here) that inspired this thing! But you have reminded me that I need to feed those voracious plants...

And, finally: Is it the debris left after Barbara exploded? A pile of pretty pink ashes, another 'guess' from Princess.

Just lather it up and your away (Princess), I know I know! Well, MJ actually got it pegged with the loofa ('Petra), It's one of those things!!! Erm... a body mop! Makes everything extra foamy... (Miss Scarlet), It does look like those loofah bath scrub/cloths or a special dishwashing scrub--I've one of those for cleaning nonstick pans! (Eros).
