Symphony For A Queen

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Haute & Freddy's debut album Big Disgrace has turned up (purchased with some birthday money), so to celebrate, here are some tunes I've been listening to recently, bookended by two from Haute & Freddy:

"Showgirl At Heart" - Haute & Freddy

"Beautiful (Richard X Rework)" - Goldfrapp

"Find Xanadu (Röyksopp Remix)" - Alison Goldfrapp
Also on the way are Alison Goldfrapp's albums, Love Invention and Flux

"I Don't Care" - Shakespears Sister
A bit of Shakespears Sister never goes amiss.

"What Could Possibly Go Wrong" - Melanie C

"In The Middle" - White Lies
White Lies latest album Night Light is on its way, too.
I like this track but the video is creepy/ghastly.

"I Would Die 4 U" - Prince
I don't listen to Prince enough, so this track featuring in the final trailer for Project Hail Mary (albeit extensively rejigged - see previous post), was a welcome reminder.

"Symphony For A Queen" - Haute & Freddy

  1. You read my mind! I was thinking of posting a new "Pick of the Pops" collection today, but it's only part-way through, so will probably pop up later in the week. Needless to say, Haute & Freddy's Showgirl at Heart is on it!

As you know, I adore Goldfrapp - but with another fave, Richard X on the mix? Sublime... Thank you for the heads-up on this one. (The Röyksopp one's great, too.) Jx

PS That White Lies one is horrid.

    1. Ha ha haa! I nearly had a coffee/keyboard incident upon reading your P.S. Fortunately, I was able to prevent said coffee from being snorted out of my nose! (I knew "In The Middle" wouldn't be your cup of tea. Or coffee.)

Somehow, I managed to miss Goldfrapp's 20th anniversary of Supernature at the end of last year, but I had fished out Richard X's 2003 album ...X-Factor Vol. 1 and played it several times in Car, coincidentally.

Haute & Freddy really are fabulous, aren't they? I have their album on repeat!

    2. I love Richard X's X Factor Vol. 1 album, especially his work with Deborah Evans-Strickland of The Flying Lizards - see here and here. And with out his work on Freak Like Me, where would the Sugababes be? Or Liberty X, for that matter. Jx

  2. I like what I've heard from Haute and Freddie so far - very reminiscent of the eighties. I might flash some of my birthday money, too.

    1. I hope you're in your front window so all the passers by can see you shaking it through the leaves of your houseplant shelves, Ms Nations?

Tickle my fancy, why don't you?
