The Infomaniac Garden Photos Event 2024

Yes, the Infomaniac Garden Photos event is finally upon us - Welcome to the show everyone!

As I type this, there are photos from nine Bloggerati (including mine) waiting in the wings to be published throughout November.  However, I am fully expecting at least one tardy entry - even if I have to scrape their blog for the photos myselves!
Oh, and due to an unavoidable scheduling clash, there won't be a showing from the Infomaniac duck this year - The Very Mistress sends her apologies.  Instead, may I present the Hexenhäusli Device dove and jackdaw:

Beaky is livid that he didn't get a starring role, but it's his own fault for being such a demanding little diva!

☙❧

Now, on to the winners (i.e. the triffids that managed to devour whole persons or limbs) and losers (those that only inflicted minor lacerations or stings) of Terrifying Triffidery.  Just in case anyone hasn't yet seen the previous Terrifying Triffidery post and wants to guess who sent in what, I've redacted the names in the captions below but they can be revealed by selecting/highlighting the blank part.

 In order of appearance:

Those horrible little mouths belonged to Dinah's Hoya triffid:

Audrey II was the result of an ill-advised experiment with a Begonia by Jon:

The Moss Monsters were found in a swamp by Melanie:

The dragon's head grew from my Passiflora:

Ms Scarlet released a cauldron of bats from a fircone:

Mr Tonking's lilies opened up to reveal the interdimensional fissure and the tentacles
(which also formed the basis of the Terrifying Triffidery poster):

The mouldy old limb was severed from Mistress Maddie's pumpkin:

The mass of tapeworms unwound from my bottlebrush flower buds
(which opened up to become this year's header image):

And the purple, people-eating penguins were left behind after the petals from my Magnolia had flown away:

☙❧

Many, many thanks to everyone who sent in some photos for this year's event - and to those who have yet to do so: get your skates on!!

There's a bit of a trek to the first garden on the tour as we'll be visiting Dinah's Australian exotica.  Oh, and brace yourselves for some erotica, too! See you in a couple of days or so.

  1. Now....I think the dragon head is your Mr DeVice...and the Audrey II Begonia is dear Jon's. Dinah always stumps me as she has great unusual things, so several could be her's. Like the tapeworms might be her's. All very creative shots.

    1. Aw...thank you Maddie.I will say that my entry very nearly wrecked my camera; dribbling its horrid juices all over the lens...
But I'll leave it for someone else to guess.

    2. Well, Maddie, assuming you didn't peek at the answers, your first two guesses are correct. The tapeworms, however, do not belong to Dinah - horrible as they are, her's are much more horrible!

    3. Drat it! I keep apostrophising where one is not required!

Dinah, perhaps next time, dozens of little bibs will be in order?

  2. Great reveal! I wouldn't have guessed half of 'em - Melanie's moss-monsters could well have been a photo taken in Dartmoor, and that Magnolia looked more like something from Dinah's tropical neck of the woods, rather than Norfolk... Jx

    1. The Magnolia remnants always fascinate me, Jon. I don't know why I haven't featured them before?

  3. Fun as always and clever idea to have us highlight for the name reveal on a dark mode page! Why am I not surprised the tentacle beast would be Uptonking's contribution. LOL He does like to display the dangling bits! :)

  4. i think Ms Proxima sent the Murderous Moss. And I actually had to double-check my own pics as I couldn't remember sending a Callistemon!! so, if not mine, whose??? I wonder if it's our Host with the Most? Beyond that, I'm stumped!

    1. Ooh, yes, Mago! I's love to see how your wax plant (Hoya) is doing, and I'm sure everyone else does too. There's room for another GPE post towards the end of them month.

  6. The Infomaniac Duck feels she has been upstaged by the Hexenhäusli Device dove and jackdaw. Such is the price to pay for sitting this year out.

    1. Perhaps she can make a triumphant return next year?

  7. The mouldy old limb bears a resemblance to Mr. Device's warty wand.

  8. Late to the party again but let's be honest I am late for everything.

  10. These, again are all amazing! You people are so creative as to taking these pictures. Always fun to see what the close-ups will be. It's never what I think they will be.
