"You can blame it on a tangerine dream"

Up at Allotment Device the bees are loving the comfrey.  [click to embiggen]

In the extensive gardens here at Hexenhäusli Device, the lawn has been mowed, a multitude of potting on and repotting has been done (although there is still more to do), I've picked yet more duckweed out of the pond lake, and the echiums, clematis, geums, marigolds, and azaleas are in bloom.  I've even managed to have a sit down in The Gardener's Retreat wth a G&T!

To add to the uplifting mood, I'm counting down to the end of a particularly gruelling blogging week - and tomorrow Jon (& Madam A) should be back from his much-needed holiday leaving my work as his ill thought through, last minute stand-in, done!

Let's have something suitably gin-addled and sparkly to get the celebrations going, shall we - and who could be more appropriate than Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore of Empire of the Sun?!

Have a great weekend, dear reader!  We intend to.

Note: Post wording and layout liberally yoinked from Jon's most recent Friday post.

  1. A G&T - well I don’t mind if I do. Well done, Mr Devine!! I did try to write a blog post this morning, but today was a Barney day, which exhausts me - though he does actually sleep a little these days!
    Have a lovely weekend!!

    1. Thank you, Ms Scarlet! Dog Days are always exhausting and/or time consuming - but totally worth it! (Bitey is more of a sleeper these days, too. He's three and a half now!)

    2. I think I have a few years before Barney turns into a sloth - I am looking forward to it, although I also feel sad because he is probably my last big dog.

    3. Yes, we should make the most of our exuberant pups while we can - even though they try our patience at times. Bitey is still on the look out for things to grab that will get him chased - socks, bits of plastic, shoes, bumblebees!!

    1. Taken with my new iPhone! Well, I say "new" - new to me. I've upgraded my old i5 to an i8 that my ex-brother-in-law gave me (it was knocking around in one of his drawers not doing anything). It's much better at focusing on the intended subject matter than Camera (and doesn't grind and stutter while doing so!) but isn't as easy to hold/manoeuvre.

  3. A faboo end to a week of "stand-in blogging". Love comfrey, love bumblebees - and adore Empire of the Sun!

Thank you for all your efforts, Mr DeVice! I should be back to "normal" tomorrow, especially as I am off all week... Jx

    1. Thank you so much, Jon - I'm very pleased that you approve. And especially pleased that you're back and I can have a sit down or twelve!
