I started this post on Sunday after returning from thebeachnarrow strip of stones at the foot of the cliff with Bitey but, what with one thing and another, never finished it. I can't remember where I was going with it, so I'll just publish it now pretty much as is.
This is what greeted us as we approached the promenade having finished our walk. When we got down the cliff earlier in the morning, I thought the tide was as high as it was going to get. I was wrong.
Yes, of course we got wet attempting to get across the slippery clay to the prom.

That's very odd. I don't usually have any trouble watching videos at Jon's. In fact, I've just watched a couple there. What is he doing to aggravate the dastardly Blogger gnomes, I wonder?

Ack, the test post wasn't really a post!! After watching YouTubes here they then worked on Jon's blog! I have no idea what's going on, but something fishy, that's for sure.

I noticed this post on Savvy's sideboard almost immediately after I'd published it, but Jon's latest from yesterday (Saxy) has only just appeared! And Dinah's "... movement" hasn't moved on to the sideboard yet.
DeleteIt would be difficult to tear me away from the coastline, although I probably wouldn’t have tried to cross it.
ReplyDeleteIf it had been a nicer day, we may have resorted to lounging about on the sliver of sand farther back until the tide went out a bit. As it was, we'd've either been blown or washed away!

DeleteRobyn's Erasure cover was an unexpected surprise. It popped up on my YT home page - one of the few things that the YT algorithm managed to get right for me.
All favorites of mine. A shame I wasn't there with you to dry off and listen to tunes.. and I could have helped you peel those wet clothes off.......

DeleteBarbara Cartland had a version of Always, featuring The Mike Sammes Singers. I'm sure Jon would agree with me, when I say it was exquisite. Though if I was Robyn I would have chosen one of their more obscure songs like The Phantom Bride or The Hardest Part and try to pass it off as an original.
ReplyDeleteSad news Re. Foxglove tree, I had blinds fitted on Tuesday the maid had cleared the kitchen windowsill and placed it outside in the hot blazing sun, consequently it had shrivelled, however, the tip was unaffected, I'm trying to re-root it.
I imagine it would be, Mitzi. Alas, the only track of hers we appear to have in our collection is Love Is My Reason, which was apparently originally done by someone called Muriel Barron. On finding it, I was overjoyed to find it on one of our own "mixtapes" alongside none other than Brian Sewell "singing" Her Majesty from The Beatles' Abbey Road album! Jx
DeleteI love The Phantom Bride, but I'd never heard of The Hardest Part before. I'm listening to it now, though. And I never knew Barbara Cartland sang as well as being a prolific author and international ambassador for pink.
